SOS - The New Commandment—Oh What Power

"The S.O.S files are part of what I call THE S.O.S ADVENTURE. My concern is to help those on the field, by visits, written communications. It’s not a program or a separate ministry. It’s to help compliment what you are doing on the field. S.O.S stands for SOLD OUT ON SERVICE. " Rev. Robert (Bob) Vignola

Robert James Vignola “Bob” (August 13, 1950 - November 29,2016) was a caring servant and minister to God’s people. Bob was born and reared in New York where he gained a passion for music. He was especially fond of and loved the many songs produced by the legendary band, The Beatles. His attraction was not just in the music, but the uplifting effect it had on God’s people. During his teen years his quest for the answers to life led him to the Word of God. Once he found this truth it became his passion in life to share and teach it with others.

Reverend Robert James Vignola never got off the course which God set for him. He was full of life, love, and instruction, as well as giving and caring. Bob was a doulos (servant of God to God's people), a faithful father of four, a steadfast believer, and a loyal friend. As seen from the S.O.S files that he regularly emailed out to others, he had a contagious and irreplaceable humor. He was very proud of his New York Heritage (often quoting “The Brooklyn Text”) his family, and the Word of God and the man who taught it to him. His faithful stand for God’s people and the never ending agape (love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation) he poured out to others will last for all eternity.

To describe the heart and presence of Rev. Robert James Vignola would require endless pages with countless incidents by multitudes of people. However, when one reflects on his life, "The lillies of the field" and their attributes might represent his life well.

Bob Vignola, the lily of the field.

As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

(Song of Solomon 2:2)

The lily will grow in fields, valleys, cultivated gardens and even among thorns. They spread their roots and produce trumpet shaped flowers of various colors.

A lily has a sweet and fragrant flower with a strong scent. Within the lily are grains of seeds of a golden color which are very fruitful and help beautify any place (or person) they are around. The lily can be a tall flower, yet it hangs it's bloom down and does not attempt to draw attention to itself.

The lily has medical qualities as well. They can be used to restore a lost voice (a defeated soul), help faintness (loss of strength), are good for the liver (filters out poisons), encourages with beauty (makes one feel special-pretty-delighted-encouraged-merry) and spreads it's roots so others will grow.

Matthew 6:28-29

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lillies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Soloman in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

All who knew him can attest to Rev Vignola’s humbleness and lowliness of mind in service to God’s people. He lived to help others grow. He was living example of 1 Corinthians 13.

The New Commandment—Oh What Power!

Dear Son of God with ALL Power,

Who would put up with someone who you told to let out all your nets and acts like he’s doing you a big favor and lets out one, only to find the net breaks with a great catch? Then says “Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” What DRAMA! Who would put up with someone who starts to walk on water, then FREAKS OUT, because he starts looking at the 5 senses around him? Who would put up with someone who basically says “I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth” then denies you 6 times and even gets adamant about it? And to top it off, realizes how wrong he was and goes out and weeps bitterly, more DRAMA, A regular EMOTIONAL BASKETCASE! Who would, after you have conquered death, and they have seen you already 2 times, go to the bait and tackle shop, renew your fishing license and go out and catch NOTHING! Who would still show up, pull you out of the soup and even cook you dinner on the beach?

We all know WHO, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He never gave up on old Peter. What made Our Lord continually put up and forbear? What did He see in Peter? How did He see it? I remember Dr. Wierwille saying “People criticize Old Peter, but if we are honest, He’s a lot like you and me.”

How did Jesus Christ see Peter?

John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That you love [agape] one another as I have loved [agape] you, that you also love one another.

Nothing is more powerful than loving someone with AGAPE! Phileo love is me loving you depending on how you act, it’s conditional, there’s no power in it. Most would have giving up on Peter. Now we have Christ in us and the potential to love as HE DID. Yippee!

Live it up
Bob V
