We have been commissioned to be living epistles, to be witnesses, and to go forth and teach the greatness of God's Word.
The comparison was made to Jesus Christ sending out the twelve and the seventy with the concept still today as then, reaching the world with the Word (of God). Scriptures were handled that show we are commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ and God to go forth and teach people the greatness of God's Word. Now also, as then, the harvest truly is plenteous and the laborers few. Encouragement was given for prayer and witnessing that people would commit themselves to go out as a W.O.W. Ambassador. (A one year commitment to be sent to speak and teach God's Word in a designated area).
Epistle was defined as a long letter or treaty of explanation. We are to be living epistles for God which are to be read of all men. We are to preach the gospel, to send the Word to someone else. The rewards throughout eternity will be considered in a sense, in the light of how faithful we were as stewards of God in witnessing God's Word. Waiting for the return of Christ is not going to bring it. When all is fulfilled, God, only knowing the time will send back His wonderful son.
