Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

Some of the basic things of the accuracy of God's word regarding the Holy Spirit field can never be reviewed or understood too deeply. I want to deal with some of these foundational matters this particular night, because I will not be here Tuesday night of this week. And we are just beginning to move into the Holy Spirit's field with our people in the core, mastering it from every detail, and in every passion. One of the great reasons we have never understood the Holy Spirit field in our day and time in its depth is because we have consistently confused the giver and his gift. The words of course, are pnuema …in the Greek word pnuema his spirit hagion his holy. These two words Holy Spirit are used in the Bible, of both the giver who is God and they are used of his gift which he gives demand when they accept him, and confess Him as their Lord and Savior. So in all of your thinking, and in your working of the word, you must always distinguish accurately, whether it's the giver or the gift which is being talked about. Sometimes, both the giver and the gift are used in the same verse of scripture. And when they are, of course, they become very, very clear and very simple to understand liking John Chapter Three

John chapter three, that very sick, that which is born of the place is what? flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit, that's a capital S in King James is what spirit and the second spirit is lowercase. Now in the critical Greek texts as well as in Aramaic, these words dealing with Spirit and with the word holy are never capitalized. But being people who live in American we speak English, English grammar demand, that whenever we use a noun as a proper noun, that we capitalize that proper noun understand. Now in the average field of nouns, it makes very little difference. It's relatively insignificant. Whether you capitalize that noun or whether you leave it lowercase. Take for instance, the noun dog. If you capitalize the dog, does that make him any dog here? Or you take the noun cat, does that make the cat any cat here when you put a capital C on it or keep it lowercase? None whatsoever. But when you take the noun spirit, or Noma, and you capitalize it, you make it mean one thing in your lower case that it means something. Now God is Spirit. John 424. This is basically what God is. God is Spirit. And whenever we use the word spirit relating to God, we must capitalize it. In the United States because of our language. God is the giver. Now God being spirit, basically can only give what He is. God cannot give us mashed potatoes and gravy soup and apple butter and peanut. God being spirit can only give what God is it's a law. Like things in the natural world can be known by the five senses. Things in the spiritual world could only be known how, via this spirit. God being spirit can only give what he is basically spirit, right? God doesn't go around town and give people jobs. He doesn't go around town and give people money. He doesn't go around town doing these things. God is Spirit. Now in this field that we're dealing with, you got to accurately and rightly divide the word when it comes to the word spirit relating to the giver. And the usage of the word spirit when it relates to that which the giver gifts If I gave you this bible of mine, you would receive the gift, not the giver, I would be the giver, you wouldn't receive me you would receive the watt gift. Now God, being spirit, gave his gift on the day of Pentecost. And that gift he gave is called Spirit. And hearing John three, six, both the giver and his gift are mentioned. That which is born of God, or of spirit, capital as which is born of or from God, that which is born of that which is born is what spirit, his gift. That's how simple this thing really is. So keep both the giver and the gift lined up in your mind. And when you read the word, rightly divided in this category. Whenever it's his gift, it must always be lowercased. When it is the Giver, it must be uppercase because of our English usage. Usually, these use a just are very easy in God's word. If you just read it in the context of which is written.

Usually they're very simple. But it's been the confusion because the people have taken the King James version or some other version. And they have gone by that usage of caps capitalization in King James, rather than the knowledge of the accuracy of the word. Like for instance, Acts chapter two in verse five, but you shall be baptized with or in the pneuma hagion, Oh, Holy Spirit. There they use the word ghost for spirit. We understand this use age, because in the King James time 1611 ghosts and spirits were not utilized like we think of ghosts today. And they were all filled with the Holy what? Ghosts. Now, again, it's a capitalization. Which, when people read it, I've always said once God, God came on the day of Pentecost. Well, where has he been? Then from Genesis chapter one till he came on the day of Pentecost. It doesn't make sense, does it? It doesn't fit. It doesn't gel. It doesn't add up. It says in Genesis one one in the beginning was who? God then he has been from when, in the beginning. How many trillion years ago that was, I don't know. Or how long ago I don't know. But he was in the beginning. Then he didn't come for the first time on the day of Pentecost. And he was in existence. But what came on the day of Pentecost was what God gave and they have confused those the glimmer in his gift. And it's caused no untold amount of confusion throughout the Christian church since its inception, and of the teaching of it back about 150 ad, even our time so you keep those two things straight. The Giver, who is holy spirit, and his gift, which he gave, which is Holy Spirit. Got it.

Now you want to dig this thing that I've taught tonight till it runs out of your ears, that you understand it, my understanding, it doesn't help you, any of you don't understand it. And you got to understand it to the point that you can communicate it to someone. If you can teach this to someone, and they can understand it, then you're sort of moving along. Don't try out tomorrow. If you've never taught anybody, don't try teaching this tomorrow.
