Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

By means of Dr. Wierwille's dynamic teaching of the accuracy and integrity of God's Word, foundational class and advanced class graduates of Power for Abundant Living have learned that the one great requirement for every student of the Bible is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Thus, his presentation of the Word of God was designed for students who desire the in-depth-accuracy of God’s Word.

In his many years of research, Dr. Wierwille studied with such men as Karl Barth, E. Stanley Jones, Glenn Clark, Bishop K.C. Pillai, and George M. Lamsa. His formal training included Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Mission House (Lakeland) College and Seminary. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he received a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology. Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.

Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Books by Dr. Wierwille include: Are the Dead Alive Now? published in 1971; Receiving the Holy Spirit Today published in 1972; five volumes of Studies in Abundant Living— The Bible Tells Me So (1971), The New, Dynamic Church (1971), The Word's Way (1971), God's Magnified Word (1977), Order My Steps in Thy Word (1985); Jesus Christ Is Not God (1975); Jesus Christ Our Passover (1980); and Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed (1982).

Dr. Wierwille researched God's Word, taught, wrote, and traveled worldwide, holding forth the accuracy of God's "wonderful, matchless" Word.

SUMMARY KEYWORDS: Moses, God, lord, Aaron, Israel, ministry, Abraham, Egypt, emergency, gods, commandments

Now, you people at home as well as you who are at home here at the headquarters of the late, take your Bibles and turn to Exodus chapter 24. Exodus chapter 24. Very seldom do I get into topical teaching. But tonight I am there. Tonight I'm going to share with you some things from the Word of God relating itself to the topic of our emergency God. The reason that I'm inspired to share this with our people in the auditorium tonight, as well as through our tape ministry and radio ministry is because of the many others who also need to hear the greatness of God's word regarding this particular thing on my heart tonight. Perhaps the reason that prompted it to climax in my life recently was because four people told me within the last week, that they had no desire to support the ministry. They said, if you had a personal need, we'd help you because you helped us to understand the word. But we have no interest in the way as an academic institution. And that sort of cut my heart a little bit, because three of those four people have no particular concern about helping the lay ministry. And yet three of those four have called me within the last six months, to pray for them or to lift them to God, because they had a need that apparently they were not able to handle on their own. I think there's something radically wrong in a man's thinking or a woman's thinking, when he has arrived at that place. Where he refuses to stand with the man of God or the women of God, and especially the ministry that has helped them to understand the word, which they never would have known had it not been that God sets the ministry in the heart and lives of other men and women. All Moses has no problem with some of his people along this line. And I think the record in Exodus 24, will help us to understand some of the things that men of God, and people who lead were called up God to lead got some of God's people find themselves engrossed with him. In Exodus chapter 24, God said to Moses, one day, he said, I want you to do something, he said, I want you to come on up here. He said unto Moses, come up unto the Lord, verse one, thou Moses, and Aaron Nadab, and by WHO, and 70 of the elders of Israel, the top spiritual echelon, and worship EFR up. And Moses alone shall come near the Lord, but they shall not come nigh, neither shall the people go up with it. And Moses came and told the people, all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments, and all the people answered with one voice and said, all the words which the Lord said, we will do. And Moses, verse four, wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and build an altar under the hill, and 12 pillars according to the 12 tribes of Israel. Verse seven, and he Moses took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people. And they said, for the second time, all that the Lord has said, we will do and be obedient unto that which the Lord has said, verse one, and the Lord said to Moses, come up to me into the mouth and be there. And I will give the tables of stone and Allah, and commandments which I have written, that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister, Joshua, and Moses went up into the mount of God, this is finite. And he said unto the elders, tarry here for us, until we come again unto you. And behold, Aaron, and her are with you. If any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them. And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount

04:55

and the glow rate of the Lord abode upon the Mount Sinai. The cloud covered it six days. And the seventh day, God called under Moses out of the midst to the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain, in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount. And Moses was in the Mount 40 days and 40 Nights. Moses had led the children of Israel out of Egypt. It crossed the Red Sea, he had crossed the sea with them, without any hurt without any injury, not one people need among the whole bunch. And now they're headed toward the promised land. And on the way, God says to Moses, you tell the people so and so. And the people all answered anything the Lord will ask us to do, we'll do. Twice, they said this. And God said, Well, I want to see you. And so God took Moses, up into the mountains, or Moses went up in the mountain gods, wrote those tables of stone. And while Moses was gone, the Bible says he was up there, 40 days and 40 knots. We turned to another chapter to see how quickly the people changed. Chapter 32. Chapter 32, verse one. And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron. And they said unto him, up and you've got to up. Aaron, you've got to make us Gods, which shall go before us. For this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of you. Can you imagine the children of Israel forgetting so quickly, what became a Moses? He led them all the time got him out of the soup out of every emergency, they got into he got them out of and he was gone for 40 days, and they couldn't even stay hits to him for 40 days. 40 days and 40 Nights. That's the longest period of time. He hadn't come back yet. So let's say a 25. They already started murmuring 25 days they must have been, because to get all this mob build up, where the pressure builds that Aaron, who is Moses, his brother, who was Moses as mouthpiece. Oh, wonderful brother, that they compelled him, they forced him. They took Aaron and they're going to make Aaron do something that Aaron really doesn't want to do. But Aaron cannot control the people. And he has to do with less than 40 days. They could stay faithful to that double promise that they had made everything the Lord will ask us to do we'll do. They couldn't even stay hips for 40 days. My oh my oh my thing, think of how Moses took care of them, how he brought them forth, how He led them, how he taught them. Everything he did was he was gone 40 days. And he said, Well, we don't know what happened to that fell. There therefore, since he's gone, we've got to have something we can look at. You got to get us a statue you got to get us a god something we can see. Listen, verse two. And Aaron said unto them, break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives of your sons and your daughters, and bring them unto me.

09:23

And all the people break off the golden earrings, which were in their ears and brought them into Aaron. And he received them at the hand and fashioned it with a graven two after he had made it a molten cap. And they said, these be die gods or Israel, which brought the out of the land of odd. Oil was a damn noble thing to do, right. Who brought them out of the land of Egypt, God Almighty under the leadership of Moses. Now they forgot that God immediately and they built themselves a little golden calf that they could lose Look at and they said, these are the gods that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, not something. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made proclamation and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord. And they rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings, that people sat down to eat and to drink, they rose up to play. They went through all the ritual, all the machinery, all the paraphernalia, but a lot of ale. And the Lord said on a Moses, you better go down Moses, and go in a hurry. Get the down. Wish you could read this in the original text. It's simply written in that sense. Get going, Moses and move. No messing around. Get your jet and get outta here. This is the attitude right down the line get the down for thy people, whose people, Moses as people die people, which thou brought us out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves, they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them, that they have made them a molten tap, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed their into wherefore should the Egyptian speaking say for Mischeif? Did he bring them out to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth, turned from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against our people. Remember Abraham remember it. Remember Israel, thy servants to whom thou swears by Dine, own self, and set us down to them, I will modify your seed as the stars of heaven. And all this land that I've spoken up like give unto thy seed, and they shall inherited forever. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his faithful, beautiful figures features and condescend to you. Reminds me of a record in in the book of Genesis. Remember, a lot. And his wife and family had moved into Sodom and Gomorrah. What sodomy and Gomorrah got inside a lot, a little bit too much the rest of the people.

12:31

And because they broke God's laws, God said the whole city's going to blow going to go down. And because Locke was in that city, Abraham had a little talk with God. You could read it. And in the book of Genesis, real interesting.

12:53

God said he's going to destroy the whole city. And Abraham said to him, Lord, really now if there are 50 people left in that city, and this was a city of millions, if there are 50 people left, would you destroy the whole city for 50? People love You. Lord said no Abraham, there are 50 left and won't do what? Abraham had himself I think, another pot of tea or something. And he comes back and he says, Lord, how about 45? And the Lord said, 45 won't destroy what he did after this. I haven't been able to figure out because if he had tea every time you'd have been tea logged, because he goes back to the Lord and he says, Lord, if there are 40, would you spare the city and the Lord said, if there are 40, I'll spare the city. Then aber, ham goes to the Lord again. And he says, Lord, about 30. Lord said, if there are 30 people who believe I'll save the city. Abraham thinks a little longer, he says, Lord, how about 20? It's quite a record. And the Lord said, if they're even 20, all spirit How much more time elapsed? I do not know. But finally Abraham gets up enough courage of all those oodles of people in those cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham says, Lord, if there can righteous we're just spare the city and the Lord said I'll spare for 10 right even 10 Not even only for in one never made it out. So you see the man interceding, Moses interceding to God for that bunch of stiff neck people that he had, that God had so miraculously taken out of his You're out of Egypt. It is Moses, the man of God, who goes back to God. He said, Lord, you wouldn't do this. If you did that the Egyptians laugh, everybody else would laugh. Look at verse 90. And it came to pass, as soon as Moses came down from the mouth nigh onto the camp, that he Moses saw the calf, and dancing golden calf and the dancing around it, the worshipping of it, and Moses. Just love them with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. He bought them all a T bone steak, and said, Look, I've given my life. I've done all of this for you. Let's do some more of it. No, what's the word say? Moses has anger waxed was hot, he got hot enough, firecrackers, he got mattered and a little red hen in June. When it's hot out in August, he got real angry. Why? Because of what Satan was doing to God's people, Israel. Or ladies and gentlemen, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Trust. And Moses anger was kindled. Because the people had been taken in by the devil. And here they built themselves a golden calf to worship when the true God who had left them out of Israel didn't get their worship. And he took the two tables of stone, the 10 commandments, he picked them up and he blocked down on the old floor with him or semester ground or something. And he broke the 10 commandments into smithereens. Then verse 20, he took the cap, which day that people had made, and he burnt it in the fire. And then he got himself a coffee grinder or a hammer mill or something. And he grounded into powder. Then he started, he took it and threw it up on the water. And then he made the children of Israel go down there and drink the water. That's good for them. They got powdered gold, water, golden, powdered water, something. You say, when Moses was gone for 40 days, they could build her. When Moses come back, when he came back, they couldn't do a thing. You know why? Because the man of God was back. And that man of God being back, he said, This is what the Word says, This is what it's going to be if I gotta grind every golden calf to smithereens, it will be done. No man laid a hand on all Moses.

18:05

And when Moses said Get down and drink all the time, and bloco said, I won't say he took his head and shoved him under for three minutes. He drank. You got to see these things, in pictures in here of the greatness that God worked through this mighty man Moses tried. And Moses, verse 21, said unto Aaron, why did this? What did this people and today, what did these people do on? The Dow has brought so great a sin upon them. You see Aaron allowing this thing to happen? Aaron gets the blame for allowing it to happen. Look at it. What do the people do under these a towel has brought so great a sin upon them. Because when Moses went up to the mount to get the 10 commandments, he left Aaron in charge. And the man in charge is responsible for the people. All Aaron should have had himself killed before he made those people that molten tap of goo. All Aaron should have stood and said, You're not going to make it all unless you get over my dead body. But the people frightened him, they scared him or they did something to him, and old and gave in to what the people said that's how they got the golden calf. And when Moses comes down, he talks to his brother and instead, why did you hear for that something? And Aaron said, verse 22, let not the anger of my brother, my Lord, his brother What's hot Dhanoa the people you know the people, Moses, you've been leading them, you know that they're, they're set on mistakes, you can hardly keep them straight for five minutes. They're always wanting to jump the traces for a day said unto me, verse 23, make us God's, which shall go before us. far as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the line of Egypt, we know not what is become of him. And I said unto them, whosoever has any go, let them break it off. So they gave it me, then I cast it into the fire. And there came out this camp now Well, isn't that sweet? I'll bet Moses and all Aaron had a good go around beyond what's written in the word goes about it in here, Moses, his wrath, would have been a little hotter yet. He just tossed it in. And it just came out this way. No leader ever just tosses it in and comes out this way a leader gives in to the pressure. He knockos under I could have sold this ministry 1000 times down the drain. If I only budge on some of the accuracy of God's word, if I only quit teaching the poor crucified with Jesus, if I quit teaching, all the baloney that people pass off in water, baptism, all the rest of these things I've just sent out. People What do you want to sell out for when there's only one thing that's worth living for? And that's God and His Word. And I love that whole bunch. Only one man Moses stood before the Lord, intercede for them, and got God to say, all right, Moses, you get them straightened out, we'll do something. Listen, the verse 30. And it came to pass on the moral that Moses said, other people, you've sinned a great sin. And now, I'm going to go back up to the Lord, for adventure, I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned unto the Lord and said, Now this is our what I call our emergency God. All this people have seen the great sin, and have made them Gods of goo. Yet now, if thou will forgive their sin, and if not, blocked me, Moses, Lord, forgive the people, but if not, you just block me. I pray the HOW TO DIE book, which thou has written. You know what Moses saying to the Lord? Exactly. That is the Lord, I love those people. And you forgive them their sins once more. And if you can't do it, Lord, just take my life. I'd gladly give my life Moses said for those people. And the Lord said, verse 33, under Moses, whosoever has sinned against me, him, not to Moses, him. Well, I block out of my book, chapter 33, verse one. Moses said unto the Lord, see, thou say, it's done to me, bring up this people, and thou has not let me know whom thou will stand with me. Yep. Now I said, I know the by name, and I always also found grace in my sight. Now therefore I praise the Lord, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now by way that I knew that I may know not question not doubt, but that I Moses may know that I may find grace at night sight, and consider that this nation is God people. And he said, God said, My presence shall go with me, and I will give the rest. And he said unto him, If I present go not with me, carry us not up him for wearing shall it be No, here that I and I people have found grace in eyesight, is it not in that Tao ghost with us? So shall we be separated? I and I people from all the people that are on the face of the earth. Verse 17. And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also, that thou has spoken. For Tao has found grace in my sight. And I know the binding, verse 18. And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. God has all through the centuries, had man to stand in the place, of God's bit so called believers, who lifted believers to God when they had need of any time. For most people, God still remains only an emergency God. When everything goes good, they forget to pray. But the moment something hits them hard, then they think, Well, tonight maybe ought to pray a little bit. God, for most people, as an emergency, God just gets us out of one spot. After another. We know the word of the Lord, then the kick the traces, and then God's the emergency God, he gets him out again. Instead of us getting to the place where like the children of Israel should have been, where they just leaned back in the arms of God. Knowing that God has enough and more despair, of all of his protection, his greatness, His goodness, His wonderful parents. As if the people by making themselves gods have go, could be delivered. That's impossible. Why can we not just learn to lean back in the arms of the Father, everything belongs to him, everything he made available in Christ belongs to us. Therefore, instead of looking upon him as only an emergency God, why not just let him be what the Word says he is, and just relax ourselves in the presence and in the glory of His magnificence. And it is wonderful parents. So many times, we have a mental set. Yep, mental set where we have for instance, an attitude of lack. You can build this thing in your life, to the end, where you manifested, the the lack because you have the attitude of life. Then we have developed among people an atmosphere of love. And in a month, might a few who are born again, believers of God, an indication of a whole pattern of poverty. Well, where is our God? The one who came that we might have life and have it more than abundance?

28:14

In all things, we're more than conquerors. Were where is that but you know, the Bible says that the ox who's got enough sense to walk in a circle to grind corn is supposed to enjoy the grain. Right? I've got Almighty going to take care of that. Stupid Oh locks he isn't quite as stupid as he looks. You know why? Because even though He treads the mill so to speak. He goes in circles round and round while the brain is being drowned. He eats of the brain. Man says he has no interest in the ministry of the way. But he would help me personally if I have a need. I don't want his help. He couldn't keep it. If that's all the word ever meant to a man like that, or a woman like that? What's the use of it? Because God doesn't need people like that. He can't use people like that because they're already out of alignment harmony. Man's life when he's walking for the Lord's with a knowledge of God's word is bigger than an individual. This ministry is not Victor Paul where well this is the ministry of the word. But it's a word that stems out not just for one little group. Oh, what a great time I could have with a group of people like you. You know, just one service on Sunday and maybe Do a midweek service just to keep the practice and when a Sunday evenings over with we take our wonderful offering I get paid week after week oh people want where is God where's the the neat where's that the power of God was the cry in our hearts of a man and a woman to see that others get to hear the word. Our vision has to be a vision for the world. Our vision cannot be tied up in one little segment, one little area. We've got to be committed and dedicated to the greatness of God's Word. Ladies and gentlemen delay ministry stands for that. You know what it says in Isaiah chapter one verse three it says the oxygen they ask no The Master is crip its location. But God's people haven't got that much sense. That's right. Did you ever read it nice if you don't I know it's in here because I looked it up always remember Bishop polite teaching that he it's got a trim and I wonder if you'll have that in his new book. Coming out in a few weeks understand. And you know, Bishop will be here again this summer with us in the camp. Isaiah chapter one, verse three, the ox Noah is on earth. And the app is masters crip. Not Israel. Noah does not know. Israel does not know what the stupid old ox knows. The US knows. But God's people Israel that didn't have enough sense to know that something? Well, when God gave us the Word of God, he said the word of God is profitable for doctrine, right believing for reproving us where we're believing wrongly for correcting us to get us back on the ball of God that we may be instructed in righteousness. It God love Israel surely loved Israel. Why put up with him? God love us Sure enough. That's why puts up with us. But that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that children are God should not know where they're reading and what they're reading in First Corinthians chapter nine chapter nine, verse seven, who go into warfare anytime at his own expense.

33:12

Who goes to war anytime at his own expense? Who planted the vineyard and he does not have the fruit thereof or who feed the flock and he does not have the milk of the flock.

33:28

Look at Galatians chapter six verse six, lead him that is taught in the word, communicate, share up the materials that he has on to him who taught him is the text in all good things.

34:06

Look at First Thessalonians chapter one verse five which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that He may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God.

34:36

That second wrong one first. That's better for our Gospel verify for our gospel came not on to you in word only, but also in watts. Power and in watts. Holy Spirit, and in much what? Assurance, as you know what manner of men, we were among you for your sake. And he became followers of us. And because they followed him who has the word, they became followers of the Lord, the Lord. That's what it says. That's what it means, having received the word in much affection with joy of the Holy Spirit.

35:36

Go back to First Corinthians First Corinthians chapter four verse 15. Remember the book of Corinthians is written because of the practical error that crept into the church because they failed to adhere to the revelation given in the book of Romans four Oh, verse 15, you have 10,000 instructors in gripes, yet. Not many fathers are in Christ Jesus, I have begotten you through the gospel. Oh, that's the word. Second Corinthians chapter eight. Second Corinthians chapter eight verse five. And this they did, not as we hoped, but first, gave their own selves to the Lord.

36:58

First, they gave their own selves unto the Lord. And secondly unto us, by the will of us, whose will no other God, the will of God that gave themselves first to the Lord, and secondly, to demand whose ministries brought to pass the greatness of God's Word and alive. Remember the scripture that says, We're to be of one mind. We are of one Spirit, when we're born again of God's Spirit, or were to be of one mind. Not mine says that the body must work together. You can't have 1000 instructors. You get all screwed up in order. There's only one that you can have. And that's the way to go. You can't have 1000 different opinions and expect to all in one mind. There can only be one word of God. And that word has to set like the Bible says above all his name. This is why the word says God may know his ways onto most his acts onto the children of Israel. The only thing that children of Israel saw were the acts of God so to speak. But Moses to Moses he made known his ways he told Moses the whys and the wherefores the reasons Horry. Ladies and gentlemen, our God has to be more than an emergency God or we might as well quit playing. We might as well quit. Or our God is not a God of emergency. Sure he is there when the emergency comes but the emergency won't come as frequently. And we put him where the Lord puts him. If we hold him up there where the word says we have to hold Him then He will not be an emergency God. But He will be our God. Like the word says underneath are the everlasting arms of God. He takes us into his arms and he loves us. He protects us. He cares for us. He's got it in me is greater than he that's in the world. I will never leave the North for 60 lo I am with you always look on to me. I know that I am the Lord like God we heard tonight. What's your home can we look but thank you very much He is a great big, wonderful guy. And he does care for people. And it is not worth that has to live. And he can only live when people bind themselves together in a commitment to him and to those who have talked to them bored because if one little teacher runs here and another little teacher runs there, and another little teacher runs there, it's just the divisiveness that you have in the Bible, where one group says, I'm a Paul, I'm about Polish, I am a sea bass I am of this. You cannot be or it is God in Christ to read into. It is he who, in this day, an hour and if there's ever been a time when the world needs to hear, Lord, this is it. This is it. Ladies and Gentlemen by next Sunday, we will have lost seven days on where we left this thing tonight and tomorrow and the next six days after that. Another week will be gone by...
