Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.
Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Acts Chapter Three tonight plus, back to the thrilling and excitement of the early church. When men of God walked boldly and fearlessly with the greatness of God's word, and I guarantee you they were not invited into the city of Ephesus, they just took the word. And in the greatness of that word, there lived a wonderful power of God because they boldly declared it. And therefore tonight, I'd like to get into the depth of some troops in these chapters, which I think will help many of our people, and especially those of our people, who have been through the foundation on advanced classes, and who still are not too clear on the great accuracy of why the greatness of the word was first brought to Israel, and that it was 15 to 18 years after the original outpouring that the Gentiles walked in, with all the greatness that's recorded in the 11th chapter of the book of Acts. But the excitement and the thrill of the early church, found men like Peter and John, walking with the greatness of the word and the power of the Holy Spirit. And in chapter three, verse one we read. Now Peter, and John went up together into the template, the hour of prayer, being the ninth Taylor would agree to three o'clock in the afternoon, our time, after the early church was on the move. They took the word to where the people were, they went right back into the temple, before the day of Pentecost, they were in the temple Anyways, after the day of Pentecost, they took their renewed knowledge of God's word and the greatness of His Holy Spirit, they took it right back in the temple. And a certain man, Lane from his mother's womb, was carried, whom they laid daily up the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful to ask arms of them that entered in the temple, Who seeing Peter and John about to go in the temple ostinato. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John said, look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold, have I done, the touches I have give ID in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up. And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he, the man, who had been laying from his mother's womb, leaping up, stood and walked in entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. And they knew that it was he which sat for arms at the beautiful gate of the temple. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him. And as the lay man which was healed, held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the portrait is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered under the people, gay men of Israel, why marvel yet this? Or why lucky so earnestly on us, DOE by our own power of holiness, we had made this man to walk, the God of Abraham and Isaac, and objective, the God of our fathers has glorified his Son Jesus, whom he delivered up and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go, Lucky denied the Holy One in the jest, and desire to murder to be granted onto you, and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead, where we are witnesses, and his name, upon or through, should be upon believing in His name, has made this man strong, whom he see and know. Yea, the believing, which is on account of him, Jesus Christ has given him this lame man, this perfect soundness wholeness, in the presence of you all. And now brother, and I want I know kn o w, that through ignorance, you did it as did also your ruins. But those things which God before has showed, by the mouth of all these prophets that Christ had suffered, He has so fulfilled now we're coming to the portion that I want to begin to expound and set before you as we go through

The reason that these words were addressed to Israel because God had through the years, made available to the people whom he had called, the greatness of His revelation. He appeared to Abraham, to Isaac to Jacob, and then on down to the people. He called Israel. He called, you know, in Jacob, Israel was called, because he changed his name from a set planter to one who is beloved of God. Jacob means one who, who is a planter, one who beats you all the time. Wow, Israel means one favorite or beloved of God. So, God, people, the ones that he had called, The reason he called them is because he knew that out of that bunch, even though many times if you look back, there were not too many who believed, but he knew there would always be some who believed. And it was to those this is why he called them because of His foreknowledge he was able to do this. And this is why every time a prophet came, he first went to Israel, always with the word on the day of Pentecost in Acts two when the church was born. On that day, only men of Israel received. God always did his best for Israel. He sent His only begotten Son to Israel. As a matter of fact, he told him, not to even go into the ways that the Gentiles and when Jesus sent out the 12, he told them not to go to the way the Gentiles when he sent out the 70. This is why the word says that Jesus Christ was a minister to the circumcision to Israel. He came, Jesus Christ came to administer the word to Israel. He came that Israel might hear the word that they might believe the words. And had Israel believed when they heard the words, had those, as they're commonly referred to in King James II Roni ously. But commonly, so had they, the Jews believe on Jesus Christ as God's only begotten Son, all the fullness of the restitution that we are reading about after bed would have come to pass at that time, but God are getting His foreknowledge do not, they would not be. That's why you and I got in the church are great. But God, God does never possess, God never controls. Therefore, God has to make his word available out here, even though it is foreknowledge, he knows that man will not believe it, he still has to make it available, or God would have to possess and control people, then it'd be of the devil. It's a tremendous truth. Why Israel, because Israel had to have the right to reject it. When Jesus Christ was here upon Earth, you remember what we read a while ago. He said, You in verse 14, talking to Israel, you denied the Holy One and adjust. You desired a murder to be granted unto you, and you killed the Prince of life. They would not have needed to, they could have accepted Christ when he was here, right, as their Messiah, as the promised one. But God had His foreknowledge knew they wouldn't, but God still has to make it available, or God would be responsible for controlling or possessing people in the true God never does this only Satan does. Anytime you read about somebody who is possessed or controlled, where the Spirit takes over, it's always the wrong spirit, whether it's Genie Dixon, or the sleeping prophet or anybody else. So God made available His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And what did Israel do to the Jesus Christ they crucified Him? They denied him. They killed the Prince of life. Now, on the day of Pentecost, once more, God made the greatness of His word known to Israel. That's why on the day of Pentecost, only Israel hurt.

Now in the early days of the church, God is still trying his best for his faith. I tell you if I was gone My patients are worn out with those Israelites and Jews centuries before I didn't give them the boot. But thank God, I'm not God and thank God you're not God because of His mercy and of His grace and His compassion and of His love. And I think all of us realize this when we look at our own lives, and see how many, many times God forgives us, how He loves us, how he just with compassion and his mercy and grace puts up with us. So he did with Israel. He said to them in verse 19, Repent you therefore, and be converted. When you repent, you don't repent of your sin. When you repent, you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus Christ, believing God raised Him from the dead. Repentance is never to confess your sin is to confess the Savior from sin, the Lord Jesus Christ. And when you repent, and you can only repent once in your life, then at that moment, you're converted. And when you're converted, what happens to your sin, they're brought it out, blotted out, washed away, totally cleanses the text. They're washed away. As you take the outer, the outer man and wash it in with soap and water, and all that dirt is washed away. So when you're repent, and you're converted, then the sin that has been there is totally cleanse totally washed away. Now he says, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord, and if you all do this, he will send Christ Jesus the word Christ precedes the word Jesus in the text here in verse 20. And he shall send Christ Jesus, which before has been was preached unto you. Had they repented, had they been converted, their sins would have been wiped out. And if Israel would have accepted Him, Christ would have what? Return? What he's talking about, if you'll do that, Jesus, the Christ Jesus, which before was preached unto you, shall come and this will be the refreshing that will come from the presence of the Lord, because in verse 21, the heavens must receive Him until the time of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all of his holy prophets. since the world began, as they believed, even at this late stage, had they believed God would have sent but remember God in His foreknowledge knew they would not want believe, yet being God Almighty, He had to give them an opportunity to reject it. That's like today, you and I have to see that men and women hear the Word of God and give them an opportunity to reject it, or accept it. But if they all never hear, then they can't accept it, or reject it, because they have never heard. It is our privilege. It is our responsibility. It is absolutely essential in our life, that we make available, the word of reconciliation and the ministry of reconciliation to men and women today. So they can either say yes to Christ, or no. That's right. If they want to go to heaven, they gotta say yes. And if they want to go to hell, all they have to do is say no, but we got to make them go one place or the other by offering the word do. They all make up their own mind which way they're going to go.

That's why the way ministry has a tremendous light, a tremendous time. This is why I believe that people are rising up and putting their teeth into it, and moving it. Businessmen, professional men, school, teachers, farmers, a lot of other people in the way ministry today, who are absolutely committed to the great accuracy of God's Word. Women in home men in shops and factories, more and more across the country. You should have been at this youth advance. If you'd have been young enough. I tell you that was alive and vital. Because our young people are at the place. If it's a matter of the word moving or some of the rest of the word has to move. People have to hear the word. If we have to go barefoot it backwards wouldn't make a bit of difference. It's the word that has to again be made known. And it has to be made known with courage and with boldness and with conviction, but you can't teach the word until you know it. So the first thing to do is to renew your mind and understand the word so that you can rightly divide it and share it I think one of the things that came out of the young people, it's a real heartening revelation in my soul. The young people were not so much concerned about research this done. They were concerned about taking the Word of God that's already been researched and do something with it. That's what Peter Dr. Wade means, when he says says, stand on the promises rather than sit on the premises. Take the word that has been researched and teach it. Sure God's going to raise up men and women who will be able to do research in the depth of the word. But there's been enough research in the way ministry done to keep most people busy a lifetime, on just practicing the principles of the accuracy of God's word they already know. What do people know about the new birth, the fullness of the Holy Spirit? What do they know about the renewed mind sonship rights? What did they know about body, soul and spirit far made and created? Very little, you know it so you carry it. Had they believed in the Lord Jesus Christ at that time, the restitution would have been made but it has not yet been made? Because God knew it is foreknowledge they would not believe. You know, this is why in verse 22, where Moses truly said, on the father's a prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren like unto me, Him shall you here in all things, whatsoever He shall say unto you, And it shall come to pass that every soul, which will not hear that prophet Jesus Christ, shall be destroyed from among the people of Israel. Yay, and all the prophets, from Samuel, and those that follow after as many as have spoken about Christ has to be in there. It isn't in the text, but it's applied. It's, it's applied, in the context, as many as have spoken well, what they speak about not soup, an apple butter, and Cracker Jack did spoken about hope, that coming your cries, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, and in dicey shall all the kindred of the earth be blessed. onto you. First, unto you first, there it is, again, up to you who Israel first first, app after the day of Pentecost. On the day of Pentecost, they were first after the day of Pentecost, all the greatness of this knowledge and revelation on them first. God having raised up his Son, Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquity, scummy sins. And now they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, literally, they rushed upon them. They just rushed in shouting, shut up. Quiet. We don't like what you're doing. We don't like what you're saying. Why? Because verse two says, being grieved, they were being hurt. They were really teed off, that Peter and John taught the people. And they were disappointed because they preach through Jesus, the resurrection from the dead. That's when they preach the resurrection from the dead. That's really what made them angry. Because nobody had ever been resurrected from the dead. Nobody was alive. And a preach that Jesus Christ whom they had crucified, that God had raised Him from the dead man that really turned them on. They were angry is fireballs, real angry.

So what they do, they laid hands on them. This is the laying on of hands. They laid hands on. They seized them, they arrested them. This is the laying on a pan, they arrested them, and put them in hold in prison. Until the next day, for now, it was even time. Why did they arrest them? Because they didn't like their teaching other words. They didn't like what they said about Jesus. They didn't like that, that Peter and John said, You crucified the just one and all of that. They didn't like that Peter. And John said God raised Him from the dead. So they just put him in jail. They put him in jail. And it was even time. Verse four. I'll be it. But many of them which heard the word, heard the word watts. Believe and when you believe after you hear the word while you get salvation, that's right. And you'll notice they preach the resurrection. Romans can remember if thou shalt confess with my mouth was the Lord Jesus and believed God did was raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be what? Did the early church preach the resurrection? Definitely. Because without the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no salvation. Without the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, there's no new birth, no power of the Holy Spirit, no return of Christ, there's no heaven and earth, no hail, there's just nothing. That's right. By the end the resurrection, we have the proof. Because if God raised Him from the dead, and we are born again of God's Spirit, we have the manifestation of the Spirit in operation, and the manifestations are the proof of the resurrected Christ. Without the manifestations, you have no proof in a census realm, that Jesus Christ was raised by God Almighty. Well, the people that heard the word believed, some of them some. And if you have, if you have fine tooth, comb, the section that I've just read to you, which I could work in detail, if you're fine tooth comb, and you'll see a lot of things that Peter preached that he said to them. And the Word of God says, that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing comes by the word of God. So he preached the word to them, but in the the greatness of that word is the resurrection. And when people tell you, the day that your ancestors are alive, if they tell you that they're already up there in heaven flitting around, that's a lie from the pit of hell. That's immediately an indication there are counterfeit, because the word of God says that only one is alive. And that one is the one whom God raised from the dead, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is why somebody, it must have been a tremendous time because the number of men was about what 5000 That's a pretty good sized congregation. didn't count the women. But if the women were as responsive then as they are to the Word of God that I teach today, you'd have twice that many women. Right? You know, you have 10,000 women, 5000 minutes. Right? Look all over any place today. Basically, the first people that respond to the greatness of God's word are women. Whether they're women, I don't know why, whether it's our times, or it's just the nature of things. But boy, I think sometimes they're a little more honest in their hunger than men, because men get so involved in making their living in their society in their job. While a woman spiritually has a greater perception, and quickly gets what I want to tell you, man, something once you might have tapped in your something. That's right, when a man makes up his mind, and he's convinced, I tell you, he's tremendous. Right? Like women, you never want a woman to get angry at you, because she'll never forget what a man can get angry at you. And five minutes later, you shake hands, you're on the road, but boy that happened to a woman. From that day on, you're just out. Usually. That's again, I suppose the way God made you beautiful creatures. And I don't know much about you women. But I do know what the Word says that there were 5000 wonderful men. And as a proportion was then what it is. Now, I'd say there were about at least 7500 women or 10 files and a, that early church must have been something that really must have been something to have that great boldness and to declare it right in the midst of those great leaders. And these were men who are chiefs in the temple. They were the top religious brass. They lived at the top echelon. They were the four or five star generals, these fellows. But Peter and John took the greatness of the word there, and they said successful. Hey, that took a little bonus didn't although occurred. I tell you, you have to be sold out. You've just got to sell out. You got to make up your mind whether God's word is right or whether it's wrong. Make up your mind and quit trying to straddle the fence. Get on one side or the other. Either say To hell with it or say boy, that's the only way to happen any other way as hell I trust And once you've made that decision stay put for a day anyway. The early church said it and they died if necessary for it. That's right. Five times. Remember Corinthians 39 lashes with a black snake. Three times 39 lashes each time with a black snake with metal or bone in the end of the thongs Paul didn't turn him off any it just turned him on more. You see they were committed don't just see it. You're gonna make up your mind if it's right and if it's right take a stand on it. Because we've got everything to win and nothing to lose standing on God's word and we got everything to lose and nothing to win if we don't stand on it. It's either our class and welcome to Joy we have again saying Deus epilogue people say this right? Well so on. Just because people say this right doesn't invalidate it. No more so than a fella not liking the sun taking a handful of mud and trying to throw it at the sun. So we won't be surprised. Doesn't get any of the man on the sun gets it all on his hands. That's all talking about God and the greatness of God, somebody saying I don't believe God's word. I think it's a bunch of baloney. I think it's got a lot of error. And it's such an invalid data that just shows his stupidity. That's all. The man doesn't know. People they have heard the word. And some of those people who heard the word did one thing they believe came to pass next day verse five. From a technology point of view, and yet Peter didn't sell out. That's why the early church slip. That's why the early church move because men got convinced it was God and God's power in his words. Well, then he said to them in verse 11, this is something this is the stone, the cornerstone, you know, the big rock the cornerstone, which was set at not of you builders. This is the very hands are the cornerstone, this Jesus Christ. And verse 12. There is salvation in any other way you like to go as long as you do good.

Neither is there salvation in what? Any other. There is no salvation in any other. So a man says to me, well, Buddha is just as good as Christ, or Mohammed is just as good as Christ. I, as a believer have to say, No. And I say, That's why a course in comparative religions is a bunch of baloney. There is nothing to compare to Christianity, because Christianity is the way of a father with his family. God is our father, his son, with Jesus Christ, we are the sons of God by birth. It's a way of a father with his family. All these other things are religions. But Christianity is God in Christ in you. Where there is none other name under heaven? none other name no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we can be saved, no. And everybody says today, well, don't tell me what I have to do. Well, I'm telling you what we have to do. God's the Word says, There are no ifs, ands, or buts about. This is the only name given among men whereby we want much, we've got to be a lot safer. And I might say, accept the Lord Jesus Christ to have no eternal life. Now, don't come around and let people say to you, Well, what about those poor people in Africa? Now that's wonderful about the poor people in Africa. But what about the poor next door neighbor? It's so much easier to talk about Africa to know that you know about them, same as about the next door neighbor, except he accepts the Lord Jesus Christ. He has no eternal life, because this is the only name whereby we must be saved. And people, that's God's word. Verse 13, now when they saw what the bones, the bones, see, Peter and John were bold, because, number one, they were convinced, and number two, they knew the answer. They were bold. Now, a man can be bold in his stupidity, too. But these men were bold, because they had the knowledge of God's word. They knew. They knew. They knew that they knew that they knew that they knew they were both. And when these the top echelon saw the boldness of Peter and John, they understood and perceived the things. Peter and John fellows were unlearned and ignorant man, because they'd never graduated from the right theological cemetery butzel. Right. They had never attended Harvard, Yale, Princeton. They were not graduates of the theological educational programs, and they looked upon them as unlearned and ignorant men. Maybe they looked upon them as unlearned and ignorant men but they had tapped in. This is a tremendous truth. You need not particularly be a graduate of any college or seminary to know God's word. On the other hand, you can be a graduate of a college and seminary and still know God's word has nothing to do with whether you're educated or uneducated has everything to do with whether you know God's word. You know why? Because the demand comes along later in the book of Acts they couldn't say of him. He was what they said here. unlearned and ignorant. His name was Paul. They couldn't say up him. He was unlearned and ignorant because he had graduated from all their top schools. He had sat under the under the teaching of the great Gamaliel he had had the greatest theological training of his time. Of all the Pharisees, he was the hottest burnin Pharisee in the nation. He was taught in that class, you know, he graduated magna Laude, summa Laude gay or something. He really sat at the top of his class. But he preached the same gospel. Ladies and gentlemen, this is why you never when it comes to the greatness of the word, it isn't whether we've graduated from colleges or seminaries. But what do we know of God's wonderful Max was? That's why it said they took knowledge of them that they've been with Jesus, they finally figured it out. They got some of this information. Because with Jesus man, it's sort of rubbed off on him. Sure.

And verse 14, and beholding demand, the man was their testimony. This man that had been healed, he was their testimony, they beheld the man which was healed, standing with them, these men in the top echelon could say nothing against them. And the reason was, because 5000 about 5000 men had been in the day before. And if there is enough believers, then the top echelon can stand against it, because their jobs depend upon the 5000 Don't use a, as their only been two or three that day who believe when Peter and John preached, you know what the top echelon would have done to Peter and John, eBay. They don't chop their throat. They hung on by their fingernails on the leaves that trust. But you see, people have believed, and government man, men in top echelon are there and they're concerned about what the folks down here think. They were then they aren't. When enough of us stand for the greatness of God's word, and boldly declare that we're going to see change, but as long as they're just one or two, nobody pays any attention. But when there are multitudes rise up, who hear the word who believed God's word, then things are changing. Sure, look what happened they said to them verse 15, you fellas go outside earlier we'll talk so they commanded them to go outside onto the console and the console the Senator and confirmed among themselves this is 77 What are we doing these men are then indeed are no Jabaal miracle has been done by them, has been done by what? By them who did it? Peter and John, how, by the power of God, that was where, because we read a little while ago that Peter was was failed with the uh, put it all together. And don't you speak in the name of Jesus Christ and tell people that God raised Him from the dead. And I can just see Peter shaking like a leaf. And John just scared to death they called them and commanded them, commanded them not to speak at all, nor teach in what's the name of Jesus but Peter and John. Shorter right up and they answered them. And they did it lovingly. They were not angry. They were not teed off. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken to you more than other god, judging. For we cannot but be those things which we have heard and what I wish to God that only today our people would only speak those things which they have heard and see, the greatness of God's word has lived in your life, you have seen the power of the Holy Spirit, you have seen the manifestation, and you must declare what you have heard and what you've seen. Oh, so when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people I told you was because of the people, for all men glorified God for that which was done for demand. Verse 22, the man was about what about 40 years old, on whom this miracle of healing was one show. It's not a wonderful message from God's Word. We got 30 seconds before we go off the air.
