That's chapter 18. We have the great record in God's word of the moving of the mighty Word of God. In the first century, there's a mighty ministry of the apostle Paul, the book of Acts as most of you people know, all of you know who have sat in our research teaching sections through these years, is the first book in the New Testament. It is the pivotal book. The gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are Old Testament. The book of Acts, is the fulcrum, on which the New Testament and the Old Testament work together is the record, the biblical record of the rise and the expansion of the Christian church. If we want to know what happened in the Christian church, we've got to go back to the book of Acts. And then, of course, if you want to get into the depth of how each church operated, you get into the epistles, like the epistle address to the Colossians, to the Philippians, because at that scillonian to the Romans. Acts chapter 18, is where we have to begin to understand what happened in the great city of Ephesus. Ephesus was the great metropolitan city of Asia Minor. And I do not want to take the time to tell you the history of Ephesus and of its background, this you can read in that 40 volumes or something, whatever it is, you know, getting think of Encyclopedia Britannica, I guess, or some other. But you can't read in the Encyclopedia Britannica the greatness of the truth, that is set forth in the 18th chapter, beginning with the 24th verse. And there we must start if we're going to understand what happened at Ephesus, and a certain Jew named appulse, verse 24, to 18 was born, born in Alexandria, and eloquent man, and mighty in the lot Scripture. He was not mighty in many other things, but in the scriptures, he was a mighty man. I have heard people refer to a policy as the golden tongued arbiter of the New Testament. He was an eloquent man mighty in the Scriptures. And he came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord and being forgiven in the Spirit. The text as it's written, from the Greek reads, and being spiritually fervent, he was spiritually on the move. Spiritually fervent, he spent and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of odd. Now there is a great key, can you keep getting more than what you know? No, no person can teach any more than what he or she knows. Now, a palace was a mighty man of God, according to the Scriptures. But he only knew up to and as far as the baptism of odd, and John's baptism was a baptism of water. That's what the word says. That's all he knew. So when Apollo came to Ephesus, he could lead the people into the new birth, but he could only get them through

If we are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we must first be born again. These disciples were born again. That's what made him disciples. But the question he asked them, have you received into manifestation this gift which you receive spiritually? How do I know this? From the accuracy of the text? When they heard this, first of all, the word this is in italics, scratch. It's an it proves it tells you that they added it from the text, it is not in the text. They they used in a participle form, when they having heard, having heard what what a policy was teaching, they were baptized in the name of the Lord. Now, in verses four and finally, we have the record of Paul's giving by revelation what God wanted him to say, regarding what a palace did. Paul did not baptize them in water. Does day are verse four? Look at it again. saying unto the people that day, they hope that's the question you're asked to ask those day, who heard John, not Paul. They who heard John not Paul, what? Because after all, he didn't have 20,000. And today, unless you can command 15 20,000, your ministries have flopped in the eyes of most people, because most people are conditioned by crowds, not accuracy. All the men were about 12. And that's the whole record of what happened in Ephesus. To begin with, now we got about 12 men. And in the next two years and a few months, we're going to see what those about 12 Did, plus others. Verse eight says, And he referring to Paul went into the synagogue and spoke reluctantly, hesitantly, no, he spoke boldly. He spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading things concerning the kingdom of law. Why don't you talk about the kingdom of heaven. We did your Bible fall to pieces. He talked about the Kingdom of God. And there's as much difference between it as day and night, he talked about the only thing that he could really talk to them about. We want to talk about the Kingdom of God tonight, or the kingdom of heaven, the difference between it but those words there are really tremendous. He went to synagogue. The synagogue was the place where people were supposed to listen to the word right. It's a place just like we have today, in different organizations, different groups, different buildings, where the right of God ought to be taught. This was a place where the word was supposed to meet. That's where the unrolled the scrolls, that's where they read them. This is where Paul went, and for three months, he spoke boldly. Verse nine. And when divers, divers as many were hard, and believe not, but spective, all of that way. Before the mala to key, Paul committed the unforgivable sin. He departed from them and he separated the disciples and He split that thing knocked down the metal because you didn't have that many.

That's right. He left the vast majority right there. In the synagogue, with the mortgage, and everything else, he left them keep the whole dip. And he said to those who wanted to hear God's word and wanted to believe it, he said, You disciples who want to follow the accuracy of God's word with me, you come with me. And he, it says, so I didn't write the word. He departed from them. He separated the disciples. And he went and disputed daily in the School of one called what? Duran he took those who wanted to believe God's word, who wanted to get into the depths of it. He took those with him and he went to the School of Tyrannis. He did not go to law court and try to get the building.

You see if you did this today, or if I did it, we get the whole community down on us and everybody else. Because our teaching today is you're never guaranteed anything which would divide the body. Truth never divide the body and only separates doubt the unbelievers from the body, that's all. So he spoke the truth. But when many of them were hardened, and even spoke evil of that way, he Paul's separated the disciples, he went to the School of tyrannical. And ladies and gentlemen, 32 years and three months, all Asia Minor heard the word of God, the Word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks, under the Ministry of one man, the apostle Paul, and the above 12 Man that it started out with, but not before de Lombardo, the Holy Spirit afterwards. A feat which has not been duplicated in our day, and in our time. We've got multi-millions admissions. We have radio, television, newspapers, religious periodicals, and never cloud never in the history of one generation, have we ever reached all Asia Minor with the Word of God? And we're not doing it in 19 160.

people, you've got to come up with some so why was it possible? For a man who split the synagogue, separated out, started out with about 12 men. And in less than two years and six months, all Asia Minor had the opportunity to hear the Word of God, both Jew and Gentile.

Or his philosophy or method or something's wrong someplace far, we're missing the boat. And we're not just honest enough to stand up and say, All right, what more is there that I need to help to make God's word abound in our day, and in our time? I think it is axiomatic that no one man could reach all Jew and Gentile in Asia Minor by himself, right. But he had about 12 men to start with. What did he do? The very principle and the only principle that ever reaches men and women and really gets the job done. And that is he took them to the school of Taranis and he instructed them in the Word. Then when this person was fully instructed, or fully enough, instructed that he could handle the word without anybody backing him up against the wall and beaten his eyes out. He sent that man out, then another man, then another man, each one would win one. And then if I won this person, I'd stick with him until he could walk. You know, you can get born again in a moment of time and be stupid the rest of the days of your life but walk along and miss the greatest blessings God has available. Because birth is of grace, mercy of God. Like the first birth you get born in a moment of time. When you're born again, it's in a moment a time like that. But after they're born again, that's when they need nurturing. That's when they need lifting up that's when we have to bottle feed them, pants them you know and all these other little details that go with growing up. Finally, they learn to eat with a spoon, you know to have the spoon in this hand but they're still working this one all over their face is like the word to you can't expect people to master the word and walk in the greatness of it the day after they're born again. So what do you do you feed them. And first you spoon feed them, give them a little milk, then you make a little more butter fat in it. And finally get to the place where you can feed him steak and some of these other things spiritually, and then they go out with a date teach someone and they nurture and lift that one up. People as far as I understand the word, that's the only way it's ever going to the job ever really gets done. All these other things we do are simply media, avenues, maybe methods or ways whereby you get their attention. There's only one way to really get men and women born again have God's Spirit filled with the Holy Spirit and getting a knowledge of the God's words, they can walk on it. And that is each one will have to teach one. You've got to learn this word so tremendously, that you know the accuracy of it, and you can lift the children up and keep nurturing them and building the greatness that God's Word in them guild they are able to walk then they win someone else. And they help that person. That's exactly how all as a miner heard the word of God in two years. no radio, no television, no newspaper, no multi millions in mission work. Yet all Asia Minor heard the word of God. This caused quite a stir in that great city of Ephesus, and all around Asia Minor. Listen, verse 11, says, And God wrought spatial miracles. by the hands of poll, the original text reads as follows. And God was doing no ordinary mighty works by the hands of Paul. God was doing them by the hands of who. And without the hands of Paul, it would not have been what accomplished or done. Right? God is Spirit. He has no hands but our hands with which to give them bread. Remember that little poem or whatever it is? No feet, but our feet with which to move among the almost dead. We say that we are His and He is ours. Deeds are the proof of that not words. These are the proving hours. I don't know who wrote it, but Right. He gave unto us as you prayed tonight, or said, the ministry of reconciliation and the word of reconciliation, what the Word says he has committed the word of reconciliation and the ministry to his children. Then if I've cut up To bed sheet with painting chairs, give it a Johnny jump up, I guarantee you, God would go up delivery. But you can cut up bedsheets till you're blue in the face. And God does not deliver because God never gave the order to you to cut it up if he tells you to cut up, but boy, it's like Moses, Old Testament, God said to him take up the rod that stick right? And it will turn out to be a serpent. Oh, Jesus to get the pots filled with water. And they turned out to be what? You tried to fill a pot with water and pray all night get God to make wine out of it. That's for alcoholics, or something doesn't work. It doesn't work by because you have not been one commissioned commit. That's the whole key. Moses was commissioned, and he obeyed God's word. That was Jesus was commissioned by God to fill the water pots with water, command them to turn to wine and they get wet. And the Bible said it was good stuff. Well, that 12% or so? Oh, I know people on grape juice. Well, you just have your grape juice if you're like you can't touch the texts on anyways. But you see, why not just believe God's word. He runs special miracles by the hands of Paul. He wrote no ordinary, mighty works by the hands of Paul, he told them to take this. And as they brought down his body, these things, the diseases departed from them and evil spirits went out of them. Then, verse 13, Then certain of the Vagabond Jews. exorcists and xr is his is one who exercises demo spirits as his at his beck and call. It is one who has familiar spirits or a familiar spirit singular or plural at his beck and call at his invitation the woman at Endor Samuel many of them today in the field of religion, even among those that call themselves Christian we have the same type of man who say they are Christians doing this we'll see how Christian the situation is. These were exorcist. They took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits now that's almost funny.

People and evil spirits were calling over others who had evil. It's a wonderful counterfeit. It's a dandy you know why? Because if I am a captain and I got a buck private Who do you think's gonna do the work I keep in the army All right now spiritually the same thing is true in ordered. A bigger devil spirit will make a little devil spirit jump. And some of us that have moved in the casting out a devil spirits in the ministry know and have seen this 1000 times in our ministries. Here were men who were exorcist. This is what in spiritualism they call casting out of devils. And all casting out of devils is in Spiritualism is where a man with a bigger devil spirit castlehill or devil spirit out of another fella and they call that cast the devil spirits. But because we have no knowledge of God's word, we say Oh, isn't that great? Isn't that wonderful?

Well, anyways, they called over him the name of the Lord Jesus. You know what most of us would have done we'd give him a deep dive on a front view or something. Because after all, they mentioned the name of the Lord Jesus and all you have to do is just mention his name. Bert tickled to death to have you in the fellowship. Remember the record of the fellow pointed his finger and he said never pointed because when you're doing you got three pointing back to yourself. You see something had missed the boat. But you know what we like to do? We like to pass the buck. We say all they were black cheats. Well, boy, you got all messed up in one family here seven up. We're not We're not looking for answers, ma'am. We're looking for an excuse. That we do not need to believe God's Word or understand it, and walk in it. Tremendous thing has happened. And the evil spirit answered and said, It was he who did the talking through the lips and through the mouth of the medium. The mediums were these seven sons of Skiba, a Jew. These spirits through the mouth, using their vocal cords, their lips, their tongue, just like in the Arthur Ford situation. And many others who might could name they simply become channels, they become mediums. They become what they call sensitive to the Spirit. Boy, don't you ever speak to me about being a channel for God? I'm not a channel for God, I am a son of God by choice. And by God's mercy, and by God's grace, when I confessed with my mouth, the Lord Jesus, believe God raised Him from the dead, He saved me. And I am not possessed. I am not controlled. I am not a medium. But by God's mercy, and by God's grace, I'm a son of God born again of God's spirits that puts you in the family of God. Evil spirits that Jesus I know. And Paul, I know, but who in the world are you? That's something but who are you? That's what verse 15 says. They talk about making TV shows, they'll read the word make some of these, when these be dynamic. Get the good cast of characters. You'd have a good cast here, if you had these stones. Here we have carried the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus, I know and Paul, I know but three, and the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them. The man the one man of the seven in whom this evil spirit was speaking true to what he was talking about. He leaped on all these others and overcame them and prevailed against them. So they find out that house naked and walk will not be a sight.
