Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

By means of Dr. Wierwille's dynamic teaching of the accuracy and integrity of God's Word, foundational class and advanced class graduates of Power for Abundant Living have learned that the one great requirement for every student of the Bible is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Thus, his presentation of the Word of God was designed for students who desire the in-depth-accuracy of God’s Word.

In his many years of research, Dr. Wierwille studied with such men as Karl Barth, E. Stanley Jones, Glenn Clark, Bishop K.C. Pillai, and George M. Lamsa. His formal training included Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Mission House (Lakeland) College and Seminary. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he received a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology. Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.

Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Books by Dr. Wierwille include: Are the Dead Alive Now? published in 1971; Receiving the Holy Spirit Today published in 1972; five volumes of Studies in Abundant Living— The Bible Tells Me So (1971), The New, Dynamic Church (1971), The Word's Way (1971), God's Magnified Word (1977), Order My Steps in Thy Word (1985); Jesus Christ Is Not God (1975); Jesus Christ Our Passover (1980); and Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed (1982).

Dr. Wierwille researched God's Word, taught, wrote, and traveled worldwide, holding forth the accuracy of God's "wonderful, matchless" Word.

SUMMARY KEYWORDS: Timothy, God, Paul, deposit, ministry, word, called, apostle, committed, works

Timothy was very dear to the heart of the Apostle Paul. And I believe I can understand a little bit of why Paul's love went out to Timothy. You see, the Christian walk is often alone somewhat. As far as a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is concerned.

The reason it's a lonesome walk is because of the commitment that you have made. You have made the commitment of follow Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, without any holds barred, so to speak. And this is why in some time in your life, in your communicate in your environment, you may find that the greatness of this Christian walk is a very lonesome mark as the Apostle Paul discovered in his life. The reason he loved Timothy so much, is because there are few people who continue to stand with a man of God faithfully in cooperation and love over a period of years. It is easy to stand with someone for two months or three months. It's like usually when the prime minister comes, you give him a reception when he comes, and then you just wish him farewell when he goes away. And it's in the process of the first year. They're real good feeding him on chicken and then they get lower down on the hog on the ham on the hawks and a few other places. And if they keep going much slower than that to get below. But you see. It is really something when you're studied the word and you see how Paul's love went out to Timothy and Timothy's love to Paul, because Timothy stood with the Apostle Paul through thick and thin. And many times, those days were difficult going. You see when a man of God finds even one believer who truly loves him, and who truly stands with him. In the ministry of the word, he has found a pearl of inestimable valuable value. He has found what the Old Testament talks about another jhanas. Jonathan is found a real wonderful friend. Under the mighty ministry of the apostle Paul Doherty, chapter 19. In verse eight, it says, And he went into the synagogue and speak boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. And in verse 10, it says, this continued by the space of two years, so that all day which brought in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and what, Greeks two years and three months under the mighty ministry of the apostle Paul, and the ministry of the apostle Paul was no more mighty than the mind of the Ministry of men of God who believed God's word, with the greatest, believing with greater believing, as the Apostle Paul believed in his day, for the Word of God has not changed. Only men have changed. If it gets less, this is why, under that mighty ministry, all Asia heard the word of God. And in verse 18, of this chapter, it says, Many that believed, they believe the Word of God, they came and confessed, and they showed their deeds, many of them also which used curious arts, this is the back darts field, the Hokey boop field, the ESP boys of their time, brought their books together, play boys, and the rest, and burn them before all. And they counted the price of them, and found it to be what 50,000 pieces of silver and so COMES THE GREAT 20th Verse, So mightily, so mightily grew a lot, the word of God. You see these men preach the Word, and as they preach the word in the synagogues, in the streets, in the school houses, school to Toronto, two years and three months. Now, we all know if Asia Minor heard the word of God in two, three years and three months. It wasn't the apostle Paul, who went to every little hamlet into every little area to preach it. He did what we're doing here again this summer at the late biblical Research Center. We are building the greatness of God's word into the life of young men, young women and adults, boys and girls, building the word in them equipping them so that they can go into every little hamlet, every little town, every little city and carry the greatness of God's Word. If we really believe God's word, when this summer has terminated with our summer school in August, we can carry this rite of God across the United States. In two years and three months without working hard at it. All we need to do is each one when one, then each one stay with that one and teach him the word on Killington walk. The difficulty is, we get people saved, and then we turn them loose and let them stumbled through the rest of life, hoping that some way somehow someplace, they'll find that they're right or wrong. As they experienced their walk in life. This is no way to do with a baby. Once the baby's born, and you start feeding it, you start watching all rich and nursing to train it, you talk to it, you tell it how to speak, you even get its clothes ready to go to school, and do all these things. So the barn again believer that new babe in Christ must be nurtured up by those of us who know God's Word so that they get strong in the faith, as the Bible says, then they can go out and when someone when we turn them loose too quickly. All that happens is the unbelieving, a believer, makes a statement and backs these people back against the wall. And then the new baby gets discouraged. And before you know it, he just closes his mouth and never speaks the greatness of God's wonderful, much less worried. But when men and women knows the word of God, then the Word of God can grow and prevail. Now I love evangelism, I love people getting saved, healed and everything else. But about God's works, the greatest of his works in His Word. And this word I love beyond anything, because it's this word, and the knowledge that's in this word that turns people on. It's this that sets men and women free. It is this that gives us the greatness of the power of God so that we can live the life which is more than abundant in our day, and in our time. All he heard the word of God under the Ministry of this man in two years and three months, and yet, and yet, before the death of the apostle Paul, all age have basically had left BORN AGAIN of God's Spirit failed or the power of the Holy Spirit. For two or three months or three years, they worked wonderfully, some maybe for five some pretend. But before they knew it, they got under the very thing, the opposite of which Galatians five one spoke, they got back under the law, they got back under this enslavement back under that enslavement. Second Timothy, chapter one. Verse 50, this thou knowest that all day which are in Asia be what 150 be turned away from me. It is little wonder to me that Paul, having found such a tremendous believer and friend, and one who loved him as Timothy, that we should find the record. We do in First Timothy chapter one. In verse two, at first Timothy chapter one. He says unto Timothy, my own son, in the lot, is not a loving way. Timothy was not his own son, flesh wise. But Timothy was his own son in the faith. He had won him to the Lord. He had led him to know Jesus Christ and to know what he had in Christ and Christ had in him. Paul had taught him the greatness of the mystery. Timothy used to go along with Paul to carry a suitcases drive, wherever Paul went, Timothy would go with him, and he'd helped him he'd carry his suitcases as I call it. And not really he was around when Timothy was inspired and Timothy telling the word, Timothy Cherilyn, I mean pellet chair Lord with Timothy. And then Kevin next time, Timothy be with him someplace else. All at once the Spirit of God working mightily in pump, he chair a little more with Timothy. This is how Timothy got built up in that fabulous knowledge of God's word that he had. Timothy, my own son, listen to verse 18, of the same chapter. This charge This charge I commit under the sun canopy, according to the properties, which right before on the dow by day I'm mightest war a what? Good warfare, the charge that he committed under his son, Timothy? Where according to the prophecies tonight in this great auditorium again, we aren't prophecy. We heard tons with interpretation. What did he do for you?

10:19

If you had your ears open, and you were listening, you had were edified by way of exhortation and comfort. Paul said to Timothy, I charge you I give you this charge this commission this job to do. son Timothy, according to the properties that went over you try that which we heard from God from heaven Now Timothy, you go out there you doer. Sure. Look at chapter six of First Timothy he says after he finishes all of this charge that he gives him, but dial verse 11, oh man of God. Timothy here is called a man of God. Plead these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life. We're on to thou art also called and has professed a good perfection before many witnesses, you have made a commitment to the charge. Then he went forth and he said he professed a good confession or a perfection before many witnesses. Because when we follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness, and go out there and fight the good fight of faith. People like a good fight getting away ministry. We've gotten it's a good faith. It gives you something to live for something to really tap into the bite into to lay hold on and carry forth to help men and women to walk in that life which is more than abundant. You know, in second Timothy chapter one. In verse two, we read to Timothy My dearly beloved son, Grace, mercy and what beats from God the Father and Christ Jesus, our Lord, not wonderful to write that to someone you really love. Someone who has stood with you, someone who loves you. He says to Timothy My dearly beloved son, My dearly beloved son, Grace, divine favor, Mercy of God, and peace from God. The Father be with you. mercy, grace, peace.

13:08

Mercy is built upon justice. There cannot be any mercy without justice. And good honest you know, biblically speaking, and God is a just got in God's in his justice justified us. You see those who may call he did want to, and those whom He justified he didn't want to glorify? Sure. All right. Grace is divine favor, mercy and peace. Imagine burn again of God's Spirit, having the grace of God on our life, having the mercy of God manifested unto us and having the peace of God. Once we have the peace of God, we do not have to take a piece of aspirin to get peace. Once we have received the peace of God, we do not need to take barbiturates or sleeping pills are a lot of other things to get quieted down. The reason we manifest nervousness on the outside is because we're nervous on the inside. Sounds like lessons and living does. While it is a lesson in living because this is it today, how many people do you meet that are really at peace really quieted down on the inside? They're all shocked. They're nervous. wondering who's going to get shot next and who's going to be decapitated next and what accident is coming next. People if we'd only come back to God's word, but that's the last thing we want to come back too, because nobody wants to come to God, basically until he comes to the end of his rope. Unless the family, the family unit, the mother and father bring up that child in the nurture and admonition as the Word says. Try your turn a man loose without a knowledge of God's word having not been brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Hardly ever do they come to God until they come to the end of the rope. When they no longer know which way to go. And if somebody is around to help them, they'll come for the word and if that isn't around, they'll go out and commit suicide or do something else. This is why Timothy was so dear to the apostle Paul, that he committed to Him that charge and he said, Now it you've got the grace of God, you've got the mercy of got the peace. In Second Timothy, also here in verse one, verse three, chapter, chapter one, verse three, I thank God who might serve from my forefathers with pure conscience. Now without ceasing, I have remembrance of the in my prayers, night and day he loved Timothy Dindi. Boy I tremendously Greatly desiring to see the being mindful of daycares that I may be filled with what joy, he sent Timothy on a mission and could hardly stand it while Timothy was going. He knew that he was committed. He knew that he had a ministry to carry out, but he was just waiting for the day when Timothy could come back, and he could sit down and have a pot of tea. Or a cup of coffee, in lessons in living something else. Good strawberries like we had tonight, this big, beautiful deletions. Gorgeous. Well, that's wonderful. Look at Second Timothy chapter forward.

17:16

At the close of His ministry, Paul's ministry and life in verse 21. He says, do Thy diligence to come before winter, so on and so forth. And in verse 11, of Second Timothy, he says only Luke is what with me, take mark and bring him with the four he is profitable meat to me for the ministry. You see, there are just a few low mark, couple other fellas and Timothy, who stood with Paul right to the end. There were very, very few. In Second Timothy chapter one. In verse five we read, when I call to remembrance, the unfeigned faith that is in the which dwells first in my grandmother, Lois, and I mother units, and I'm persuaded that India also Wherefore I put the verse six, in remembrance, I remind you, Timothy, that thought stir up the gift of God, which is in the, by the putting on of my hand. The gift of God is the ministry. The gift of God, here in verse six is the ministry. You know, there are five ministries in the body, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, whatever Timothy had. Paul said to him, I remind you stare this thing up. Start up, start up, stir up the gift of God, the ministry that said you now you may have the ministry of an apostle property, badly teacher or pastor in the body, but unless you stir it up, unless you work at it, unless you put it out. It never comes into fruition, with any great, immense amount of power or conviction or anything else. Even the gifts of God have to be stirred up. If you're going to be a good teacher, he said, be the best. If you're going to be a bad teacher, be the worst one. Those two are always remembered. Now, if you're going to teach God's word, never be the worst one always be the best. Because if you're going to teach God's word, keeps it so that men can understand it that they can hear it and keep it so simple that a child need not earth Aryan or a fool need to miss heaven. Teach it simply. And you'll have no difficulty with the college graduates, the university graduates and adopters of philosophy understanding. Try. Why did we ever get the idea that we had to teach our preach so that nobody could understand it? Try. I have sat under some of the so called Great theologians in the United States that either I'm too stupid to understand what they're saying, or they're too stupid to say it's, I can understand why. I listen to one man talk so long about certain fields of theology. And I'm absolutely convinced that when he got through, he knew no more than what he did when he started, which was nothing. He just kept going in circles. And when all of us do left that, students left that particular lecture hall, we had no anything either. We couldn't tell him what he talked about. But boy, I was in a meeting where some of these wonderfully great ministers met, and I heard them say, Boy was neat, terrific. I said, What do you say? Well, now I'd say he said so and so. But I said, What is it eight? Well, I don't know. But he said so and so and it was good. Mile mile mind. If it gets to be this difficult, we better turn it off and turn something else on. Because salvation is simple. The Word says that it's is that when it's properly taught, not even a fool need to Earth Aryan. If we can't make the Word of God, simple, so that every person who comes here and headquarters can understand it. Now, what's the purpose of my being here? Or anybody else that tried. And it's not a sign of educated people to talk in languages nobody else can understand. That's a sign of pride, conceit and out of alignment harmony with God. The more educated a man is, a more educated a woman is the more his commitment to people where he teaches them in the capacity that they can understand. Well, didn't write the book. But Bo, put in remembrance stir up the gift of God stir it up.

22:16

Very seven says, where God has not given us the spirit of God. Ah, Bo, somebody says they don't like it. Do we get scared out? Never. God hasn't given to men who have ministries, that spirit of fear. But God has given to men who have ministries, power, love, and a sound lot. Mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, never be ashamed of the testimony of the witness of Our Lord, what he accomplished for us. Do you remember those years when you were ashamed that you can carry your Bible to Sunday school? Don't be honest. You just joined my ranks. Try because nobody else carried their Bible. And if nobody else carried their Bible, naturally, I didn't carry it either. Because if I carried I was a mark, man. Well, today, I like marks. Today wouldn't make any difference. Nobody can't believe God's word. I'm still believing. If nobody cared to walk around and say the word of God, the Word of God still say it? Because I'm not ashamed. And the poll said that Timothy, don't you ever be ashamed of the Word of God that people say a couple years ago, or whenever it was, they said, Not. Boy, if I were you at the way headquarters, I wouldn't have people speaking in tongues every Sunday night and interpreting because you get newcomers in here. And these newcomers have never heard speaking in tongues, you might offend them. If the word of God offends people, there's something wrong either with my teaching of it, or with your believing that it could be both places. If I would teach it outside of love, if I teach it in bitterness and resentment, that could be one thing. But on the list on the other hand, if the Word of God offends you, if I teach it in love with conviction and with accuracy, and you get upset by it, that's your fault, not mine, and not God's right. That's why here at the White biblical Research Center, we practice the presence of God and the power of His Word as we know it, as we understand it, in all of its simplicity, it is beauty. Like the doors in the church in bandwidth, those inner ones you swing both ways, you know, that's the kind of door you have to always have, then people can come and go as they like. Try Well, Be not thou ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, verse eight, nor of me his prisoner. Yet all people have a tendency like Timothy, Timothy, you know, Paul to get started, he was in prison. He was sort of deep defamed and he had a lot of shame heaped on him, people were saying a lot of bad things about him. And Paul says to Timothy, don't be ashamed of the testimony of the Lord, no part of me the prisoner would be our partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God, who have who have saved us who had saved us, Timothy and Powell, and called us with a one holy calling. Not according to our works. But according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began, for whom God burned, who those who predestinated and God and His foreknowledge knew Paul would believe I never would have chosen Paul, I doubt if you would try. He was just to mean a fellow demon allowed inside the church, Jerry without ever plays persecuting the Christian hating them in a president executing them, whenever possible, voting against them standing next to Stephen when they stoned him, all of these things. And yet God knew Him from before the foundations of the world and coding. Because he knew that when he heard that word and really heard it, he would believe it. And when he would believe that word, he would be saved. That's why he saved us, called us with a holy calling, not according to our works. But according to his own purpose, not a dream industry.

27:07

This is why when he called him even before the foundation of the world, it was the greatness of this mystery that was revealed to the apostle Paul, which Paul in turn taught to Timothy, and to the rest of the believers who sat around to hear it. And regarding this all said to Timothy in Second Timothy chapter one, verse 11, where I'm too I'm appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a lot teacher of the Gentiles. And because of this ministry that was given to him, the apostle Paul suffered that which is recorded in Second Corinthians which I'd like for you to look at Second Corinthians chapter 11.

28:02

Second Corinthians chapter 11. In verse 23, three are the ministers of Christ. I am more in labor is more abundant? I guess, Gert by Hannah would have a side of this come now Paul. In stripes above nature.

28:29

In Prisons more frequent, in deaths often of the Jews five times receive die 40 Stripes save one. Thrice I was beaten with rods. Lunch was a stone. Thrice I suffered, what? A night in a day I've been in the deep in journeys often, in perils of water, in perils of robbers, in parallels by my own countrymen, in perils by Hebron, and perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness and perils in the sea, in perils among false brother, anyone in here want to complain about yourself tonight. And all the pressure that you and I have had to stand being Christian. Listen, the very 727 in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often in hunger and thirst, in fastings, often in called a nakedness, besides those things that are without that which cannot the bond me daily, the care of all the word, that something. This is why, in second Timothy chapter one, verse 12, it says, For the rich clouds, I also suffered these things. All that which we just read from Corinthians, Paul says to Timothy, because of this, I suffer these things. Nevertheless, I am not locked for I know, I know. I do. Question I do not doubt. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, I know that I know that I know. I know whom I have believed, I know who might have believed and am persuaded, persuaded, beyond a shadow of a doubt be persuaded to the end, I have no question about it, persuaded that He, God is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him is not in the text, it reads as follows, I am persuaded that He is able to keep my deposit which he has committed unto me. Again, I give it to you. And I'm persuaded that He is able to keep my deposit, which he has committed unto me against that day. You see, the requirement is in a bank, that when you make the deposit, they keep that deposit, which is committed under them by you. They keep that deposit safe for you. If you have it on savings, they're supposed to invest it and make you a little money, right. But they are responsible for keeping the deposit. Now talking about the great mystery on the new birth, and all this which God wrought in Christ, in Paul, Paul said, was in His beloved Son, Timothy. And he says, because of the greatness of this ministry, as an apostle as a teacher, and one other place, it said, Paul was a prophet. Three ministries, the only man I know in the New Testament was three of the five. Oh. He said, I'm not ashamed, for I know who might have been Eve. And I know totally persuaded that He is able God is able to keep my deposit which he has committed under me against that day the difference that he committed unto us is the new birth the power of the Holy Spirit. The reason it's my deposit because it is a gift. It is a gift. Once God gives you a gift, whose is it? Yours the recipients right? All right, he has given you that deposit. Now, since you have that deposit, which he committed unto you, the usage there becomes your obligation.

33:18

But he is the one who asked to give it inverse port gain while it's working now that when you first Timothy six bacteria just right above this 620 You mean you have no idea? Aren't you back to Timothy yet? Second, second, First Timothy chapter six verse 20. I just read your second Timothy 112. So it should be on the same page almost for not don't go back to books for to be tuvar verse 20. Oh Timothy, keep that which is committed to as I trust the text reads, or Timothy, God the deposit, guard that deposit committed because I trust avoid profane, vain babblings and oppositions of science the word science is knowledge, opposition's of knowledge which would be wrong kind of knowledge falsely so called you know, knowledge falsely. So gold came at the guard deposit. Guarded because God has committed it to you. He said Now Timothy, you started you take care of it. You are jobID in Second Timothy, chapter one, verse 14. That good thing said the word thing is the word deposit. That good deposit, which was committed under the tip, bye What the Holy Ghost there is no article in the original text at all, in any critical Greek texts, keep by the Numa ideal, which drown in us that good deposit, which was committed underneath that good deposit you keep by the Holy Ghost or NUMA Hoggin, which dwelleth in us. How are you to keep it your to keep it by that which has been given you. That's how he wants to guard it. This deposit. This deposit was the great mystery, which was kept hidden secret from before the foundations of the world first made known to the apostle Paul, this tell us what we receive when we receive him, what we are in Him and what God made Christ to be unto us. Now since Christ is in us, the power of His Holy Spirit, we are to guard that. And we are to do this by NUMA archaeon, which dwelleth in us, not upon us, but rare in us. Now, the only ways that you can guard this deposit.

36:28

The only way whereby you can increase the evidence is by the operations or the manifestations of the Spirit, to the end that we speak in tongues interpret and prophesy to the end that we operate right or knowledge, right or wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, miracles, and healing does this and we guard the deposit, we keep it, the word deep, does not mean keep to the end that you lose it. It means keep to the end that you get interest on it, that it increases that good deposit, which was committed underneath you keep you keep it You guarded, not that you could lose it, but that you get benefit that you bring interest to it by the Holy Spirit, by the operation of the manifestations of this spirit. I think I know that this, by the way is the purpose of our ministry here again, it's so first of all, to get people to the place if they have a need, that they do receive the Lord Jesus Christ and are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Secondly, that they find out what they have what they are given as a gift, then to teach them how to utilize that which God has given them. So that they can guard the deposit, that they can make it really relevant in their life. This is the purpose of the way ministry and our dedication to the teaching of the classes that summer by all of us who are involved in the teaching ministry here. This is why Paul loves Timothy so much because he was his own son spiritually. And Paul nurtured him in the Word. And then Timothy instead of turning his back on Paul's good with him through thick and thin, and Timothy just buddies heart out for Paul and Paul, but he's heard out for Timothy. And those two were just good for each other. Because when Timothy would come back, he'd encourage Paul, and then Paul would encourage Timothy and together those two did a tremendous work for God. Because both of them garden that deposit which was given under them.
