Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

By means of Dr. Wierwille's dynamic teaching of the accuracy and integrity of God's Word, foundational class and advanced class graduates of Power for Abundant Living have learned that the one great requirement for every student of the Bible is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Thus, his presentation of the Word of God was designed for students who desire the in-depth-accuracy of God’s Word.

In his many years of research, Dr. Wierwille studied with such men as Karl Barth, E. Stanley Jones, Glenn Clark, Bishop K.C. Pillai, and George M. Lamsa. His formal training included Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Mission House (Lakeland) College and Seminary. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he received a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology. Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.

Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Books by Dr. Wierwille include: Are the Dead Alive Now? published in 1971; Receiving the Holy Spirit Today published in 1972; five volumes of Studies in Abundant Living— The Bible Tells Me So (1971), The New, Dynamic Church (1971), The Word's Way (1971), God's Magnified Word (1977), Order My Steps in Thy Word (1985); Jesus Christ Is Not God (1975); Jesus Christ Our Passover (1980); and Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed (1982).

Dr. Wierwille researched God's Word, taught, wrote, and traveled worldwide, holding forth the accuracy of God's "wonderful, matchless" Word.

SUMMARY KEYWORDS: Romans, gifts, call, gave, church, evil, manifestation, mind, mercy, powers

I'd like for you to take your Bibles tonight please and turn to the book of Romans The Book of Romans, the 11th chapter. And thank you, Rhoda. And thank you, Dorothy for playing so beautifully tonight. The Book of Romans is the first great revelation to the church after the birth of the church on the day of Pentecost. And I want to begin specifically with verse 29, of the 11th chapter tonight, please. Verse 29, of the 11th Chapter, I'd like to clarify among you the greatness of the gifts that God has given, and how these are operative in the church, to which you and I belong, because we belong to Him. In the 29th, verse of the 11th chapter, it says, For the gifts, and calling of God are without repentance. The gifts and the calling of God, are without repentance. At the time, God called us. And God was able to call us because he knew we would believe what we heard the word as it says, in Romans chapter is a 1017. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. God in His foreknowledge, knows, when people will believe and who will believe. And so he was able to call us he was able to choose us, because He knew that when we would hear the word, we would believe that word and would respond to it. So the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance. This is a tremendous fruit that just electrifies the heart and soul of any person who understands what gifts are, and what the calling of God is. In Ephesians, keep your finger in Romans here and look at Ephesians For just a moment, Romans Corinthians gelation Ephesians. Now we know that salvation is by grace, right, and that salvation is the gift of God. That when a person is born again of God's Spirit accepts the Lord Jesus Christ, as his personal Lord and Savior, He receives the gift of eternal life, the new birth, which is Christ in you the hope of glow. This is the gift, which is ours because of the calling of God. This new birth, that's a gift. Now, we've got to remember that when God gives a gift, it is frequently given, it is always given as a gift of grace. But it's different than men time frequently gives when he gives a gift. Many times when people give gifts, one to another, they have strings attached to it. It's like the idea, I'll give you a gift provided to give me one when my birthday comes. Or I'll send a Christmas card to you as a gift. And I'll send you a Christmas card because I got one from you. Or the giving of the gifts by meme usually has strings attached to it until they renew their mind on the Word of God, then you give a gift without any strings attached. Anything that's a gift has no strings attached. As long as it has a string attached to it, even one string. It is not a gift. It's a misuse age, semantically of the word gift. Now, mankind does this, we know that, but that's not the word. When the word says gift, it means no strings attached. When God gave His only begotten Son, there were no strings attached. Or he so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, John 316, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Right? How wonderful These truths are. And if when we get to the place that we understand gift and utilize these troops, then when we give a gift we give it without any strings attached.

04:55

I think the ray of ministry could have had millions of dollars in its coffers by At this time, had we accepted gifts that had strings attached. We just recently, I had a tremendous offer made to the lay ministry, but it had strings attached. It had strings attached to where we wouldn't be free to do what we feel the way a ministry has to do, because of the calling of God of the men and women in the ministry. Any time it's a gift, it wouldn't have strings attached. It's like people, sometimes you hear him say, Well, I gave $100. And then if it isn't, if it doesn't do what they think it ought to do, they wish they had it back. They never gave it in the first place. Because once you give it if you're ready to give it, then you're no longer responsible for it. But the recipient is responsible for the for God as to its utilization right. Now, any fees, and it talks about these great gifts, chapter four. Verse 10. Well, verse eight tells us Wherefore he says, When He ascended upon Hi, this is talking about Jesus Christ. He led captivity captive. He led Satan, who is the captor He led captivity, he's the head of it. Satan is he led all Satan and his hosts as far as the believer is concerned, he led them captive. For the believer, I said, He gave gifts unto men. Verse nine and 10 are parentheses. You can read right on the verse 11. And find out what those gifts are that he gave. He gave some apostles and some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and brought teachers, what for verse 1112, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying the building up, not the tearing down, not the criticism, not the fault fighting, not the bickering, or building up the body, the body of Christ. How long are these gifts? Here, verse 13, until or till we all come in the unity of the faith, of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the major of that stature of the fullness of Christ. And this will only be when he comes back. And we have a body fashion like unto His body, that's when we reach the measure of the stature understand, of the fullness of Christ. Purpose being verse 14, that we henceforth, that we right now, be no more what children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in ways to do one thing, what do you see? You see, going back to Romans. This is what Romans is declaring in verse 29. That's the gifts. The gifts and the calling of God are without what? Repentance. If you could be born again, that second time, then you would have to be able to repent of having been born the first time. A man can only repent once. When he repents, he does not confess his sin. He confess as the Savior from sin, the Lord Jesus Christ.

09:22

He confesses with his mouth. Romans 10, nine and 10 the Lord Jesus Christ, believing that God did was raised Him from the dead, and thou shalt be saved. That's what he gets when he repents. Well, why don't you repent? He's born again of God's Spirit, right? And he can't repent of being born again of God's Spirit. You can't repeat but a second time you can't get saved a second time. You get saved one. That's why repentance. Repentance is for The unsaved sinner, when he repents, he gets saved. And that's the calling of God, he cannot repent against that wonderful, no more so than I can repent. The second time being Victor Paul Wierwille. I'm Victor Powell, where we'll buy one thing first. And I'm going to continue to be Victor PAUL Well, as long as I live. Now, praise God, I'm also born again of God's Spirit. And when we're born again of God's Spirit, we are His children, and you can't repent of being his child. That's why the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance. Now when it comes, salvation is a gift to every born again believer. Eternal life, new birth. This is a gift. It's without repentance. But he gave, not to every believer, but to the body. To the body, He gave gifts, of ministries, of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints. These things, these gifts, ministries are not to the individual they're to the body understand, salvation is to the individual. Otherwise, otherwise, every person would have to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor. But these are gift ministries, to the church to edify, to build up the body, it says of the Church Christ. Now, when God gives a gift ministry or gift ministries of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher, these ministries again are without what? Repentance because God did was gave them as a gift, no strings attached, who's responsible for that gift or those gift ministry? The recipient? That's right, you are. I am the one who has received it is responsible for its utilization, its operation and its manifestation. This is why in Timothy, if I recall nor right, Paul said to Timothy, stir up the gift that is within you. He wasn't talking about stirring up salvation. He was talking about the gift ministries that have that Timothy head. He said, Now stir it up. How do you stir it up? We'll stir it up. That's how you stir it up. You utilize your work it a man could be a teacher, and sit down on the teaching ministry. Understand why because it's the gift and the gift. And the calling is without lots. Repentance. He would still have it the same as I would have my arm. If I tied it up in a sling for a month, I would still have my arm I would only you lose the efficacious. That a good word operation there of the usefulness of it. That's all right. Boy, this is wonderful, when you consider that God gives these gifts without repentance. So then, when we are born again of God's Spirit, having eternal life, we will always have that eternal life because if it's eternal, it cannot die. If it's life, it cannot die. That is eternal life cannot die. But we must understand that the word gifts and the usage thereof is in the light of its biblical presentation and not, as you understand are many people understand gifts in the census realm.

14:24

Now, verse 34, as he in times past, have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief. He's talking about Israel and the Gentiles. The Gentiles obtain mercy through the unbelief on the part of Israel. Even so, have these also now not believed that through Your mercy they also might obtain mercy For God has concluded them all, both Jew and Gentile in what? Unbelief, that he might have mercy upon, or without any distinction, both among the Jew and the Gentile, as they believe. Now this great 33rd Verse, look at it, Oh, the depth, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable are His judgment and His ways past, finding out. Isn't that just real? A thoughts, real depth, Oh, the depth of the riches of God, that God should love us so much that He sent His only begotten Son for him. That he would allow us to be born again of God's Spirit. That by His grace, he would give us eternal life, knowing that we flip time and time again for him. That he would give us eternal life, and even give us ministries in the body and know that at times, even the men with the ministries would not live up to their high and holy privilege. Yet, he chose us and gave us these gifts, without any repentance. Oh, the depth, the depth of the richness of the wisdom and knowledge of God. Oh, unsearchable. I'm unsearchable is in comprehensible, right? Or is it uncommon? That this word unsearchable. You can search it out. You can see a lot of the richness of God. But you cannot comprehend it. You can only apprehend it. You can only understand in part.

17:27

You can never comprehend the riches in total, in some places. How unsearchable are His judgment and His ways past, finding out. The word past finding out could be translated, untraceable or untrackable. You can track out you can trace out some of the riches of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. But his way, his ways you can't even track their untrackable because they're just too magnificent, too wonderful, I guess. Every time I see this tremendous verse, I think of that truth in the Old Testament, where the record says, He made no his ways under Moses, his axe under the children of Israel. You know what it means? It means that he told Moses the why and the wire for what he was doing, why he was doing it. He may know His ways, His reasons for to Moses. But all he ever told the children was the manifestation of this, which was the he made no his ways on the Moses, he told Moses a story, but he only made known his axe under the children of Israel all the depth of the richest the unsearchable the in comprehensible judgments of God. I like this. You know why? Some of the people that are saved I wouldn't say would you? I'm sure the Apostle Paul could never have made it in hardly any organized or disorganized denomination. I wonder sometimes if he made it at the way headquarters. You see that's what he's talking about. There riches have the wisdom of the knowledge of God in comprehensible. Regarding his judgment, does man's judgment is always you know, sense knowledge right below me is usually wrong enough times that couldn't even be right 51% of the time. But God's judgments are in comprehensible to His thoughts, His ways are even further out. There happens finding out they're untrackable there's some things you can track in the Word of God. Other things you can know. I like to say this, though, are people again tonight. I think many of us have learned this in biblical research through the years. We're great sticklers for the integrity and the accuracy of God's word. But there comes a time, when you press that word beyond where it'll be pressed, you'll always go in air. Why? Because you'll reach that point where it's no longer trackable. And when you have reached that point, it's no longer trackable. And you push ahead, then it's not going to be his tracks your following is going to be the tracks of the projection of your own mentality or rationalization or reason. You'll be off in there. I promised some of the people around the country this last month, on the itinerary at some evening, I'd really Teach First Corinthians 13. I told them how to read the Holy Spirit book, everything I know about in there. I think they said that in believers, so they want to hear me teach at some night. And one of the reasons they wanted to hear me teach it was because they said there's one thing that we believe the way people leave. And that is the renewed mind love. of First Corinthians 13. They said We sometimes find that the wait people are a little hard to take, because they're such sticklers for the accuracy of glory to God, but have such little love in the presentation there. Oh. Well, I haven't touched it that way. That's for sure. But I understand how this could be. Because you get to be real critical. You listen to VPS teach, and you wonder, well, now you're gonna make an error on this thing. And if you do this to me, I feel awful sorry for some of the rest of the people that you have to sit listen to maybe a time. They'll they'll take one verse, and they'll start really hating it to pieces. And you'll say, Well, boy, that's awful. So we get to be top notch critics.

22:55

But how about being top notch people in love? Why not? It's in the category, the renewed mind. So we can be real accurate on God's word. At the same time, we can renew our minds to have the abundance of the presence of God in our hearts up here in our renewed minds, and we can live the love of God in concretion in manifestation. Well, maybe I'll do First Corinthians 13. Sometimes they I promised them sort of I would. I didn't tell them when. But now they'll be hearing my teaching here tonight. They'll need to be writing to me this week. We're known for verse 34. For who has known the mind of the Lord, and who has been his consulars? Or who has been first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again. For of him and through him and to him are all things. To whom be glory forever. Amen. Who has known the mind of the Lord? Why did why did he choose bow? Since knowledge wise, we would not have chosen him nor anyone else. But God Look, not on the outward man but were on the internet. He understood that even though that Apostle Paul was a murderer and everything else, he knew that when he really heard the word he believed and therefore he's chosen. Who is it to say that God made a mistake? Or who have known the mind of the Lord, who has been the consular to God? Who was his head of state? Who was his prime assistant? This is what he's trying to say. Nobody gets nobody because God sits at the top on the top echelon. He's got all my nobody doing stuff. Now this is why He says in verse, one of chapter 12, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your religious service, your reasonable service. And verse to be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. We are what we think, we manifest what we think we bring to ourselves what we think, whereas a man thinketh in his heart, so his job said, That which I thought was fear, and that which I feared, did what came upon me. So, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You and I are responsible for our mind. We control them, we make them track.

26:31

We are the ones who decide mentally, what we're going to believe what we're going to operate, and everybody's going to believe some, we all believe something, therefore, we can determine what we're going to believe. And we can determine if that which we have believed, has not produced the results we can determine. To believe something else right. Now we are to be transformed. transfigured is the same word that used in the gospels, when Jesus was transfigured before Peter James gone, it's getting a new figure in your mind. All things of the mind pass away, all things become new up here in the mind, to the end, that we are transformed up here by what we send up by the renewing of the mind. And to that end, we're able to prove that which is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God, in concretion, in manifestation in the census realm. Now, the reading of the 12 chapter, is one of the write chapters, that just blesses your soul, if you just even hear somebody read it. Listen to it. By say, through the grace, verse three, given under me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than you ought to think but to think soberly, as God has dealt, as God has dealt, who did the dealing in this game? God did the dealing. God has dealt to every man to every man, every without any distinction when he's born again, God does the dealing to every man, the measure of faith. And I heard Reverend George teaching the class one night last week, and he said, if pressed down, shaken together and running over delta, every man the measure of faith, or as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office, the word offices function. So, we being many are one body in home, right, and everyone member, one of another, having been given different according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophesy, let us do us, according to the proportion of our ministry, let us wait on our ministry, or he that teaches on teaching, or he said exhorted on exhortation He that giveth, let him do it with simplicity, he that rulers with diligence, he that show us mercy, with cheerfulness in the book on receiving the Holy Spirit today I have given a literal translation of these verses from four to eight and especially beginning with verse six. We're having 10 gifts differing. And I'd like to read this to you tonight from the Holy Spirit book on page 166. Romans 12, six, seven and eight, from the literal translation, because King James is a little difficult to understand unless you work for hours on it. Listen to this. Verse 12. He then in the church, having gifts charismata spiritual abilities and function differing according to the divine favor a friendly willingness of God that is given you. If it be a ministry of prophecy, keep busy prophesying according to the proportion of your believing verse seven. Or if you have another type of ministry, get busy ministry. Or if your ministry is teaching, get busy teaching, or if you have an exhortation ministry, get busy exhorting, Romans 12 Eight should now begin with these words. He that giveth forth in any ministry in the church, let him do it with simplicity.

31:30

He that has a rule, a ministry, a ruling ministry. Let him do it with diligence. And he that has a ministry making him very adept in mercy. Let him do it with what carefulness that's all that wonderful. But the key word is this matter in 2008 He that has a ruling ministry, a ruling ministry. You see the ruling ministry is dependent upon the gifts that have been given to the church as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, they have the ruling ministry. It's not the board of elders, the board of Deacon, that sense knowledge we elect. But it's men of God, who have been called of God, whose God's gifts are without repentance. These are the man to whom God has given the responsibility of ruling ministries in the church. This is why he specifically is not only speaking to the individual believers, but to those of us who have ministries in the body. Why verse nine says, Let love be without dissimulation have heard that which is evil, please do that which is what could be kindly affection, one to another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another. Not slothful in what this fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation continuing instant, constantly in prayer via the manifestation of speaking in tongues in your private life, the only way to do it distributing to the necessity of saints. This responsibility is to those men who have early ministries given to hospitality. Bless them with persecute you. bless and curse not. Rejoice with them that rejoice weep with them that we be of the same mind one toward another. That wonderful in the ruling ministry. We as men of God are called upon to have the same mind one toward another. You do not put one believer ahead of another. You don't shove one believer down and another one up or elevate one and sub someone else down. We are of the same mind toward all of God's children, one toward another. My not high thing but condescend the lowest state. Otherwise you're going to be wise in your old one conceit because if a person Wouldn't mind high things could be in his own conceit. You know, he wants to be at the top echelon. It's just it's conceit, its pride. That's all. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide all things honest in the sight of all men. And verse 18, if it be possible, as much as lie as in you, live peaceably with all men, as much as possible. If it's not possible, it's impossible. But as much as possible, live at peace with all men. I believe that this word all is without any distinction to the believers. Not with all men around the world, all believers, here at beloved events, not yourself, but rather give place under as 40 is written, VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY set the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, do what if he thirst, give him up. For In so doing, thou shalt he closed the fire on his head grabs, the bishop will teach this Orientalism this summer. Some of us have heard him teach this, and it just electrified us what it was to have heaps of coal on your head, sure, get the picture and to have a fireplace burning, making steak farming. And then you go in there and take out of the fireplace and put the fire on your head, you'll have a hot head, that's for sure.

36:40

Be hot headed man. That's not the meaning. So let's let the Let It said perhaps the bishop will teach it to us. Again, Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with what? Good? Let every soul every born again believer be subject on to the higher what powers. far there is no power but of God. And the powers that be are ordained of evil. This can have nothing to do with the government of our great state of Ohio can have nothing to do with the government of these our United States. And it doesn't. No matter what you've read in magazines and periodicals. No matter what you've heard other people say, the word of God interprets itself in the verse, or in the context and the individual word as to fit the verse, the verse has to always fit the context, you leave it set. We're talking about men who have ministries, ruler ruling ministries in the body, how they're to act, how they're to conduct themselves, and how the Christian believers in that body, conduct themselves under the Ministry of these men. Let every subject, every soul be subject under the higher powers. higher powers are those men in the church who have gift ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors or teachers, just has nothing to do. And it's saying nothing about the government's the secular governments, in order. For there is no power, but about God, and the powers that be are was ordained of who? God who gave the gift ministries like Ephesians talks about God. Romans said, the gifts of God and the calling of God are without repentance. And he gave these ruling ministries to the body to edify the body. Now these are the higher powers higher because God is high, and God calls and God gives. Now these ministries, these are the higher powers. And these powers are power from whom, but of God, and the powers that be are what? ordained of who? God. Boy, you can't say this. Boy, you could say it, but not accurately regarding secular powers. Because you and I have lived long enough to know that there are many secular Powers, who are certainly not of God. My good first two Whosoever therefore resisted the power, what power these higher powers which God has ordained for the church, the body resisted the ordinance of oh, God, and they that resist shall receive one bottle bringing a manifestation to themselves. Judgment, not damnation judgment. For rulers, verse three, the ruler is the higher powers, the rulers in the church are not a terror to good works of God's people, but the rulers of the church are a terror to what the evil will allow them not be afraid of the power and the word power, hears the word authority, do that which is good, and thou shalt have one phrase of the same for he is the Minister of Home, busy for guddies, a minister of God, not a minister elected by the church, not a minister, elected by the secular world, but he is called up oh, God, and God gives those ministries if thou do that, which is evil, be afraid for he bears not the sword invade. Oh, how they love to have this in the secular.

41:36

No, no, no. How could he contradict himself from chapter 12? Ray said Recompense to no man evil for for evil. Bless them which persecute you, and then turn right around in verse 13. And say that this is a physical sword where you go around chopping everybody's head off. The Word of God is the sword. The word is the sword. You understand? The Word of God is the sword. sharper than any two edged sword? I think Hebrews says, doesn't the Word of God. That's the sword. This is what the men of God have the ministers of God, the higher powers in the church who have the ruling ministries. They have the sword, the word of God, that's what he's talking about. What versus the verse For fiery bears not the sword in vain, he does not bear the Word of God in vain. He has that Word of God to bring to God's people and God's people get out of behind him harmony and alignment. For it says he is the Minister of Home, God, he's the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth what? Evil. In other words, evil if he doesn't believe God's word, he walks away from God's word, this minister of God, who will either be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher, has this sword, the word of God. That's it. You see why I keep driving in the classes all the time, that the Word of God is the will of God. It is this word of God that builds believing faith to get safe. It is this word of God that corrects us. For the word of God is profitable for what? doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, through and through and truly perfect, until all good works. Wherefore he must need be subject, verse five, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake, or for this cause pay tribute also, for they are Gods what? Ministry attending continually under this very thing rendered therefore to all their dues. Tribute to home tribute is do custom doing customers do fear don't fear it to honor to him to home honorees do you keep going through that tremendous chapter. And it says in verse 14, but do not put G on the Lord Jesus Christ, put G on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for a lot. vise to fulfill the luster of and him that individual who is weak in the faith. One who isn't quite as strong as you may be are assigned baby. What do we do to those believers, those born again believers, we do not receive those who are weak in the faith to doubtful disputes, disputations we don't lord it over the No. We simply keep lifting them. We keep building them up, we keep bringing them up. I often think of these things in the way ministry. Maybe somebody only wants this far after he hears the word, but thank God, he's at least walk that far. Someone else may walk a whole mile. Well, thank God, they've walked the mind. But it's our responsibility in the way of ministry, to present the Word of God and to lift all of God's people everywhere, irrespective of who they were, what they were before, but knowing that they have Christ in them, to lift them up, and hold them up before God that God's abundance can bless them with the greatest of that bliss that they can receive in their life. This, I believe is the great teaching of Rome, this tremendous chapter, and especially the 30s, where the higher powers are so simply set forth as ministers of God to the body of believers, that we may be perfectly brought up with the greatness of the power of God.
