SUMMARY KEYWORDS: resurrection, God, word, Christ, resurrected, Jesus Christ, spirit, power, Jesus, epicureans, dead, law, died
Take your Bibles tonight and turn to First Peter. In this class on power for abundant living, I have been teaching them teaching you. From the Word of God we have read, what it what it means body, soul and spirit, born made and created. And that how when man lost his spirit, he had only walk left, body and soul, that soul. And this man, a body and soul is called the scientific man. He is the man of Pure Reason, Immanuel Kant is the man who gets all of this information by his five cents. We have also covered the facts or the truth from the Word of God, that this man is called the natural man in the Bible. The natural man is the man of the flame. He is also called the carnal man. And this natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God, they're foolish to the sun to him, because the things of the Spirit of God can only be known how, via the spirit, things which are in the natural world we can know by our five senses. But things in the spirit world can only be known how, by the Spirit. Then we covered in the Word of God, exactly what Jesus Christ came to do, of how he was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary. And when John the Baptist, or John the Baptizer, baptized Jesus, it said, The Holy Spirit Cave on he remember, and that he did not have the Spirit by major, but he had everything that was available up to that time, which included seven manifestations of the Spirit. He had prophecy, he had word of knowledge, where the wisdom discerning the spirits, faith, miracles, and what else healing? That's right. We followed it through. Then we were at the place, closing on Friday night, with exactly what did His death, His resurrection and his ascension accomplish. And that thing just didn't quite set good with me after y'all went home. I thought to myself, my that infinitely greater yet than what I've taught to them on Friday night. So tonight, by the grace of God, I'd like to take you into this word of God. And again, let this word of God speak to us to see exactly what God had in mind with Jesus Christ here. In other words, I'd like to cover the meaning of his death, his resurrection and his ascension with you tonight from the word, I may ask you for your cooperation in reading the Scripture, because there are quite a few scriptures that I would like to have read tonight. And to build this thing together. The first one we turn to is First Peter, chapter two. Everybody have it? Nice Peter, chapter two. Verse 24, right to life, will you read it please?
03:26
There are wonderful, Who his own self, Who his own self, bear our sins, in his own body, on what the train, the cross was a tree. And here again, it says, So He bore our sins in his own body on what? The truth. Now, most people believe this right? This they will accept that when Christ died, He bore our sins, right? But why won't they accept the other part of the Scripture? It's in the same verse, ladies and gentlemen, it's in the same verse. Now we're talking about what Jesus did for us. What he accomplished, right? And we're not talking about what you think, or I think, but what does the word say? And the Word says, that He bore our sins in his own body on the luck that we being dead to sin should live unto us. By whose stripes, the word, what deal. Now, if a man can accept the first part of that verse, and not the second one, is that man or woman accepting the Word of God? No, if you're going to accept part of the verse you accept at all, you accept either all the way to God or none but one or the other. That's right. That scripture says when he died upon The cross upon the tree, he took our work. But before he died upon the cross, they beat. They spit in his face. They put a crown of thorns on. They did a lot of things too. And it said that by His stripes, we were what? And had he meant healing that this was spiritual healing. He just said, so this is physical healing, because spiritual healing is in the first part of that verse. Bless your heart, right? God hallelujah. Right? This is why ladies and gentlemen, you we either accept the Word of God or we don't, right? You can't take just half of a verse of Scripture, you take it all or nothing. And when Jesus Christ died, he not only took our sins, but He took the consequences of hours and which is sickness? Does this mean that we will never get sick? No, I didn't say anything like it, nor does it mean you will never sin. But we have a deliverer, a Savior, from sin and from the consequences. And for this, I thank God, you bite your life. This is what he accomplished. For us, at least. This is one verse as to what he accomplished in his depth. Look at another one, the book of Romans. The Book of Romans chapter 10. Chapter 10, verse three, and verse four, who has that please? Alright, Grace over there. Read it out loud, so everybody can hear it all right. going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone to believe. Amen. Christ is what? He is the end of the law to everybody that does what? So at the time, we believe then for you, He is the end of the law, if Christ was the end of the law, that he was the end of the law, right? Absolutely. Right. Now, for most people, he is never the end of the law, yet. They still live under the law, and they preach the law. They first blow down everybody's throat. But ladies, gentlemen, the Bible says, I didn't write it, visited you. But when Christ died, he did these things for us. Christ became one, the end of us. This is why this is why he was baptized. Did you ever ask yourself why he was baptized? He couldn't have baptized the Rachel because of his sin. He wasn't baptized because he was defiled. Right?
07:55
Jesus Christ doctor was not baptized because he needed baptism. But the baptism identified with with him with Israel and with the law with the law, and he was the fulfillment of the law. This is why what he died upon the cross. The last word he uttered from the cross was what it is, Vinnie, what was finished, the law was fulfilled your redemption and mine so that we could be saved without law because we had something bigger than the law. Well, praise the Lord wonderful. Christ is the end of the law. This is what he accomplished for us with his death. Look at galleys basically says the same thing. Romans Corinthians galleys. Galatians, chapter three, verse 13, who has that? Alright, this is Randall back there.
09:04
Right, Christ Half past tense, redeem past tense us from the first of the law, and the curse of the law is written in Deuteronomy. If you want to read the curse of the law, just read it in Deuteronomy, it gives you all the things that happen to people if they do not keep the law, and this curse, this curse of the law. sighs have redeemed us. Why? Why does it say he has past tense redeemed us from the curse? He has past tense redeem past tense us from the curse of the law, because he became what? He became the curse. And if he became the curse, and he took it, then it is it any longer upon us? No, it's like this Bible here. Look here. If I would lay this Pam, if this was the curse of the law, and the Bible in my hand represented Christ, and he took, he took the purse, he bought the curse for us, then is this law or the curse on me? Is it upon God's children today? No, then why in the world do you want to let people put it on you? What I can says in Galatians, five one, Dan fast therefore in what? The Liberty were with Christ, Jesus has what? Set you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of God. And the yoke of bondage is the law. Boy, aren't you glad that when Christ died, he bore not only our sins, and by his stripes, we were healed. But he took the whole curse of the law upon himself, he became a curse for us, so that you and I could become the righteousness of God in him. Oh, that's wonderful, isn't it? Oh, sure. This is what he did for us. It is our turn to x, chapter one. There is nothing that Jesus Christ ever did. That would solve have astounded the world as the resurrect when God raised Jesus Christ, from the dead, this was the most tremendous, the most wonderful thing, the greatest thing God had ever done, because up until this time, was anybody ever resurrected from the dead? No. And yet, some people would say, What about Lazarus? This would be the question. I want to explain to you the biblical position here, the difference between the getting up of Lazarus and the widow's son from name, wasn't it? Am I right here now who had died, Jesus raised him. The difference is that they were raised only for a moment. It was not literally a resurrection. Or if it's a resurrection, there is never any die. Lazarus got up. But later on what happened to him, he died, the widow's son of me got up but later on, he died again. Jesus Christ was the only one who ever got up in the end of the with the accuracy of the word where it says he was resurrected in a new spiritual body. Now keep that straight class, because you will have to get all this word to fit for the greatness of the ministry of the gospel of God today lays in what God did in Christ in the resurrection.
13:31
Acts chapter one. Verse 22, in this chapter. Now who has that? All right, Mrs. Davidson, please. Read it up a little louder. I can't hear it up here. beginning from the baptism, John, onto that same day that he was taken up from us. Must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his right now there is a remarkable verse, because Judas Iscariot Judas Iscariot, committed suicide, some time after the ascension and before the day of Pentecost. And here, Peter, and the other apostles were waiting for the coming of the day of Pentecost. And during that period of time, during that period of time, Peter said they wanted to, according to the psalmist, select someone to take Judas Iscariot place. And there was one basic requirement or two really two basic requirements regarding this individual, if I remember correctly, it said that he had to be one who had accompanied with them, right? From when John's baptism, which was the beginning of Christ's ministry, right? Who was that they are? witness with us of his book. He had to be someone who saw the resurrection. Who saw who saw wonder, boy sometime this week, as we get deeper into this final week of this class, we're going to be talking about the new birth. Right here we start in the new birth, they cause the resurrection is the key to the new birth. If Jesus Christ arose if he arose, then the new birth became a reality on the day of Pentecost. And if Jesus Christ did not rise again from the dead, then there is no eternal life or new birth today. But I want to ask you tonight. How many of you believe that George Washington was the first president of the United States? Hold up your hand? While there is not an unbeliever of the outfit tonight? Uh huh. Wonder one? Well, we make we make reservations for some of these fellows, I guess. How many of you believe Abraham Lincoln live? Hold up your end? What year did a blink and die historian April 98, or 9018? Lot. So on April the 1919 119 165 will be the 100th anniversary this will be this year 100 years since Abe Lincoln was assassinated. Is there anyone in the audience tonight who is about 115 years old? Haha, no, but yet you believe that Abe Lincoln lived and was the president of our United States and that he was assassinated on April the 19th. Even he believes this because I got him to say it April that it is a paid 65. All right. Why do you believe? Why do you believe? You know why? Because you read it, or somebody told you there is no one of you have who who's who has seen George Washington. Yet you believe he was president of the United States or something? Abraham Lincoln, not a one of you have said then why do you believe? Alright, get on us for one your life? Why do you believe it? Because you're reading in a book or somebody told you right? Well bless your heart. I want to tell you, we've got more authentication, for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the power of His Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, then you have that Abraham Lincoln live, or George Washington, I've got more proof. For this, more proof for this than you have for anything else. You know why? Because not only do you get it from the Word of God.
18:36
But once you are born again of God's Spirit, and the power of God moves in your soul, you have manifestation. And when you have manifestations, the things of God are proof, in the sense as well understand. This is why this week sometime when we work, the new birth, and I get every member in the class seated down here, I'm going to find out whether you are willing to accept the greatness of the reality of the resurrection of Christ, which is built upon just as certain ground. As a matter of fact, more certain if you are a real scientist, then Abe Lincoln, or George was the resurrection. What he accomplished in the resurrection is the greatest thing that God ever did in any person's life as far as Jesus Christ or anyone else was concerned. It had to be someone who said I have seen ladies and gentlemen I have seen with 909 and experienced within myself, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Gospel, our Gospel of salvation. hinges upon the reality of the resurrection and what he accomplished in this resurrection. Fourth, look at x 4x Four. Look at verse one. Let's I want verse two to be the read that verse one gives you the background. And as they speak unto the people, the priests and the captain's, the captain of the temple, and the side gypsies came upon the being grieved, that they taught the people and preach through Jesus doll resurrection, from what? Then they laid hands on them, and put them in prison. That's what happened. As they talked about Jesus being a prophet, would they have done this to him? No, you know, what got Peter and John and the rest of these apostles in the soup all the time in trouble. Because they preach something that really shook up. They preached that Jesus Christ had risen from Earth, then there must be something in the resurrection that really upset those sad gypsies and the captain of the temple and the priests, right? You know what it was that before this, no one had ever risen from the dead in the resurrection type of thing. And they knew this. Because after Jesus Christ was resurrected, it was no secret. It was no secret. Can you imagine those priests, those Pharisees those side disease, those people are the center Grinch who voted for Jesus's death. That after he was raised, that they did not go to the South Africa and look for themselves. Why you know better than them. You know why they went, they cause their own company reported back to them their own soldiers said he isn't there he gone. And yet they said what do you call that wrapping? The whatever he was wrapped in what Jesus was wrapped in remember, Nick edemas wasn't the grave clothes. That's it. That grave clothes was laid there, just like a body was in it. The only thing that was Gone was the neck gun that had been poured over his face was it or his mouth, his face that was folded and placed in a neck of the row. Everything else in perfect order, and yet no body inside of it. How's that? Boy I'd be looking to. But how about you? If they came around? And they said, so and so's casket? You died three days ago. This morning. his casket was empty. But his suit is there. He's got his, his his handkerchief in his pocket. The buttons on the suit are all buttoned his shirts up and his pie is up. His shoes are on he's all there but he isn't there. Boy water confusion that would cause I bet even some of you go. I'd want to go. Alright, when Jesus Christ arose again, from the dead, it was not done in secret. It was done openly. They came, they saw something had happened. Never before had anything like this happen. And here to think that they had crucified. Now he had been resurrected. No wonder it caused such a stir for the city of Jerusalem and the outlying area, right? They call it as a resurrection. It's impossible John as the resurrection. Well, they had won anyway. Because God's in business doing the impossible remember? Or the scripture says With God, all things are what? And if all things aren't possible, then the impossible is possible with him. And that's exactly what he did that day when God raised Him from the dead. And this is why the resurrection has even to this day. 1965 Collins people so much struggled because down across our nation tonight, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of preachers in different churches do not believe God raised Him from the dead, nor do they believe he's ever gone back. Well bless your old soul. What do you want? Stand behind a pulpit, pour and be an unbeliever, the unbelievers supposed to be on the outside of the church and come on in and get converted, saying well, I don't know if you like it or not, I don't particularly care whether you do or whether you don't steal God's word. But today, the unbeliever can stand behind the pulpit, and ridicule the Word of God, and how should the pieces and denounce half of it and chop it up in Smithereens to choose himself or to suit the little denomination he works for? And my Bible says, Ladies and Gentlemen, we stand approved before God, oh, like when we rightly divide the Word of. That's why it says, were to study to show ourselves approved under God as work, who need not to be ashamed doing what, rightly dividing the word of truth. And here, in the Scripture, we read, it said, These priests and Sadducees, in verse two, they were grieved. The word grieved is shook. They were flabbergasted. They were teed off, I understand that. They were both real angry about the situation. And what were they angry about? They were angry that they talked to people. And they preached Jesus through Jesus, the resurrection from the dead, they were angry, because they taught them that Christ Jesus rose again from the dead. Are there people across our nation tonight, who would get angry, if you are taught that they that Jesus Christ rose again from the dead, but that's what the Word says. That's what it means. And it doesn't make any difference whether they get angry or whether they don't, it is still God's word, if you believe it, or I believe it doesn't make one iota of difference, or it is God's word, if nobody's right? And it's this resurrection. Ladies and gentlemen, this is where our faith stands. This is where our power leads, right? In this resurrection. When we understand it, and appropriated, then we become the kind of people that God had in the first century of the Christian church. When they did mighty signs, miracles and wonders, and things really came to pass, because men and women believe it says, they played hands on them. That's the laying on hands. Verse three, this is one section of the lay God anyways. But this laying on our hands was to take him to prison. Take fellows to prison, why fall? Were they good felons? Sure. But what they taught disagreed with the accepted principles of unbelief that had permeated the so called religious circles. So they took them to jail. And yet very sporty says many of them which heard the word did what, that's the greatness of it. And the number of men was about what a bad maybe baby, the leaders, the Sadducees, the priests, the leaders objected to it. Whatever common folks listening holes are this thing. And God loves the common folks because they still believe. Right? And those that heard the word they believe, they believe, and no man can believe without hearing the Word Art real. No Man, No man, for Faith cometh by hearing and hearing comment by the Reader's Digest. Life look, hard time Saturday Evening Post, Esquire. No, faith cometh by hearing and hearing one thing, what's the word of God? John, preachers, don't worry that God because they preach the resurrection. Right? Yo, then people believe at this is my ministry. This is your opportunity this week, as you go about your business in your shops and factories and out on your farm. Wherever you are, it's your business to be about God's. If not, then tell me the reason for your being here upon Earth. There is only one reason for man's existence here upon earth, and that is that by his life, he may glorify God and how can we glorify God except we witness that greatness of God and our power of His Holy Spirit? As I am sure the Bible's right, that no man or woman was ever put here to work so hard as most people work, you know, day in and day out six days a week, sometimes seven days a week acquiring this material thing or that one.
30:14
Suddenly life has a much greater meaning and purpose in that class, right? Life, the meaning to life is that when you go out this week, again, no matter where you are, you're witness to the power of God, and the greatness or the power of God's ways, in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And without the resurrection. Nobody can be saved. All right, take it a step further. Take the same chapter.
30:46
Verse 23, chapter four, verse 23. And being let go, after they had been put in prison, being let go.
31:03
They were they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them, and when they heard that, when the people of the early Christian church heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, one accord means unity of purpose. And here in the book of Acts, beginning with chapter four, verse 24, you have the first prayer that is recorded in the early church in the Bible. Now they prayed other places, but this is the first recorded prayer in the Bible, after the day of Pentecost, when they heard that they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord, dollar God, which has made heaven and earth and sea and all that enemies, who by the mouths of thy servant David has said, why did the heathen rage and the people imagine being things, the kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ, or of a truth against thy holy child, Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were gathered together, or to do whatsoever by hand and Daikon for determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold, there was threatening, well, they had been laid hands on, they had been put in prison, they had been informed that they said, not speak in that name, or preach in that name, nor teach the resurrection. And now they have the prayer meeting. And you know, who they complain to? God? No, they just tell him about, they just tell him about it. They didn't go around the neighbors, and say, Well, boy, we sure had a hard time. It sure hard to be a witness for Jesus. My goodness, someone said a while back, I heard this by the grapevine, I suppose, bother me any. But they said that they wouldn't come to the way headquarters, because if they came here, then everybody in the community would know that came or bless God, someday, you're going to have to go to heaven, right? And everybody in the community may know you either went or didn't get there. Right. always concerned about what the other person thinks, I'm concerned about what is God's doing. And we better get concerned about what God thinks. So we're going to lose a lot of things that we have had freedom to in this whole our old nation for 100. And some years, we better come back to the Word of God, and not run around and say, Well, I heard so and so I heard so and so. If you've got anything to complain about, go to God. Talk to him about that's what they did. They said And now Lord, I'm in verse 29, this is the word. And now Lord, behold, there was and grant under thy service. That was all hesitancy with all fears. With all lots, oh, it doesn't say with hesitancy or fear. And yet look at it logically. Plus, had you been through what they were through, had the head, the head, that ruler, the rulers of the temple, the synagogue, that head of our denominations, and I've already heard and they called you here and said to you, don't go there, preach the resurrection, and do not use the name of Jesus. In your testimony. Would you have prayed like grandpa Under thy servants that was all lot bold. They didn't play, pray to be reluctant and hesitant about it. They prayed, oh, Lord, give us more bow, give us more bone. And that's exactly what got him in trouble the first time right? There they were here they were praying for more of the same stuff that got him in the soup the first time and brand on the BI service, that with all boats. They, they speak their own mind. Know, their own theology, their own doctrine, though, but one thing with all boldness speak one thing and one thing only what is it? By word, for it's the word of God. That was the word I got to the early church, for the Word of God meant what he said it it said what it meant. And God had a purpose for everything he said, where he said it why he said at how he said, Adobe said, Look at Verse 30.
35:58
By stretching forth by hand to watch, while he must have been in the Heelan business then Right? In the early church, maybe not today, maybe God died, you know, or Jesus Christ is out of existence today. But in that early church tonight for they pray, that he might stretch for his hand, put a lot to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child, Jesus, verse 31, carefully. And when they had prayed, that place was one second, where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. And they spake that word of God with one. Oh, audio like that wonderful. Well praise that old. Nobody said to me a while back, we're will you sure get excited? Why shall I get excited, I got something to get excited about. Why not get excited. I don't think I'd get any more excited. Some of you people sitting out here. You wouldn't drive 125 miles one way to be in this service unless you believe God had something in his words, to meet your need. What I'm telling you one thing you don't drive up here on Sunday night, just to be in, in my presence, to see the way I comb my hair. Open my tie or what I do. You're here because of one thing was no word. That greatness with which the word lives among God's people. And ladies and gentlemen, it says that when they had played, that place was taken where they were assembled together. And then it gives you the great key of the early church, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And this is the only way a turret can still operate. It's got to get filled with our power of the Holy Spirit. It must operate manifestation. And there are only nine manifestations of the Spirit listed in the Bible, speaking in tongues and interpretation and prophecy. Word and Ali's word of wisdom deserting is first faith, miracles and healing. Someone said the other day, yeah, what about it? Speaking in tongues? I want to tell you something. You know, what are think about a person saying that? I'd be very careful before I said it, because there might just be another funeral or two. That's right. Because what God has made great, let no man try to be little. That's right. And I lay my hand off a god if I were you, or anybody else. Wouldn't do you ever want to come back to the Word? And are you bored? The Bible says they were filled with the Holy Spirit. And this is what gave them the ability to pray for the bowl that this is what gave them courage and strength because they do what they had in the resurrected Christ. Show. And they speak the word of God with both verse 32. And the multitude of them that believe were of one heart and one was a man. They didn't say a dozen different things. They didn't have a dialogue going Reverend Davidson. They were of one heart and avant. That's what it says that wonderful cooperates exactly what you shared with the people that I show, neither said any of them that are the things which he possessed were his own. But they had all things common. Verse 33, was great recognition class, and with great power, gave the apostles witness of one thing what they're resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And because of that grace, grace was upon diamohd. And when you lose the greatness of the resurrection, you lose the greatness of the grace of God upon his people, upon our community upon society, because that grace of God can only be upon that people of God who walked according to his Word and rightly divided, not wonderful, the resurrection the greatness of it, plus look at the 17th chapter of Acts. I have at random just picked a number of them tonight. There are about if I remember correctly, about 15 Great verses of scripture on the resurrection I suggest you take a concordance like Young's or songs of truth, and look up every word under the resurrection this week, and check the greatness of it. I've picked out five or six or seven of them for you tonight. But there are many more in there. Acts 17 Verse 18, who has it played alright missus probe. Philosophers, the Epicureans and the Stoics intelligent him in some stage will establish save others some before the strange gods because he's preached and then Jesus in derisory. That's right, that's something, you know, the Epicureans were in the stoics. Philosophically sure, you know, because at the time of the civilization of the Greek civilization and so forth, we came, we had a group of philosophers who were known as Epicureans, others who were known as stoics. And they listened they had heard this fella, and they some said, Well, what's this Bible are gonna say, what did they call the apostle Paul, of Babylon, or as a nice name is when the way that God says that of all the revelation that's ever been given the abundance of like no one has ever received as much as the apostle Paul, but the people some of the Epicureans, you know, the brains sales, this following that great philosophers. They said, Well, what's this family? Doctor 10 law? He can teach us and he sounds real modern does. He says he's a center full of strange words. why would why did they say he was a babbler? In a center for a strange god? Because he preached that Jesus Christ did what was resurrected, there it is, they couldn't stand the resurrect past. It basically is not in what Jesus sin. Sin, why do you do? There's history. When God raised Him from the dead, that's the great man like Buddha. Men who live down to the like, among the Hindus. Great leaders can't think of their names right now. But some of them think of any of the Hindu leaders like Mahatma Gandhi or write any of those greats. You see that? A lot of wonderful things. But I'd like to go back further like thinking of the the Hindu scriptures like direct Vedas, a lot of things that are written in the Bible, were written hundreds and hundreds of years before in the Rigveda. It is not in what Jesus said, particularly, but in what God did with him, and he would go, and that is that God raised Him from the dead. No one was ever resurrected, except Jesus Christ, no Buddha, no, Mohammed, none of these, but only Jesus, the Christ. And this is why the Epicureans and the Stoics said, Well, what's this babbler got to say, he sets forth strange doctrines about a Jesus who was resurrected. And this resurrection would not fit into philosophy. You know why? Because philosophy, world wisdom in German. Remember the word philosophy we felt this world with? Our World Science. That's philosophy. This is why resurrection, they couldn't understand the Epicureans and the Stoics because it was something they had never encountered before. In the 32nd verse of this same chapter. You ought to read this Sorry, they're in the 17th chapter, the whole word. And really interesting, down in the 32nd, verse of this same chapter, and when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, you're Paul is, is at the very opposite in Greece, Athens, Mars Hill, where they had all these dogs, you know, from all the names. And then they had one spatial one there, it was mark to the unknown God in case they missed me. And while he was teaching there, he imagined taking the gospel into that place of unbelief. Or it was the Gospels good. The gospels made for unbelievers, to get them to believe, if they want to, when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, from who heard what others said, we will hear the again that wonderful, some said, We'll listen to this thing again. But some place in here it says, and some believed I can't lay my 34th Oh, yes, thank you. I'll be a certain man play Vaughn to him and what? Amen. Now the wonderful, you see, you always have three reactions to the Word of God, three, relax. The night, people listening to this broadcast, are going to have three reactions to this teachings, they haven't turned us off by now. And you know, one of them will be they'll market, they'll market, they've always marked the way to God, some of them. But that does not involve invalidates the Word of God. It only makes it of non effect to them. Right? A second group says, well, we want to think about it a while, we will hear the again of this matter. And then the third group is composed of those who do one thing was Billy, and those who believe receive for all believing equals receiving, and nobody ever received anything from God without belief. You see how important the resurrection was in the early trip. Glory to Roman, one more verse along this line. Romans chapter one.
47:42
Verse four, who has it please? All right, Mr. Davidson Dyson declared to be the Son of God with power. All right, here's Mamet. Start reading with a third verse and then we'll get the impact of the fourth. Everybody All right, read a place concerning His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, how was he declared to be the Son of God? That struck by the resurrection from the dead. It was the resurrection that declared that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. And without that resurrection, there would have been no declaration that he was the son of God. He would not be assessories thanks, knowledge wise, not have been any better than David, or Moses, or one of the prophets preps. But the thing that scripture says, that declared him to be the Son of God, was that he was was resurrected from the dead. You see why the resurrection is the greatness of it is not in the crucifixion of the cross. And yet, the major symbols we have today indicates that which basically has nothing to do with the greatness of what we have in Christ, this cross, this cross is not indicative of the greatness of the gospel that is addressed to us that today, the cost is indicative of his death. But that greatness is not in his death, but it is what it is resurrect. That's it. It is resurrect. But it's Colossus. At Romans Corinthians Galatians Ephesians Philippians Colossians Colossians chapter two
49:58
chapter two of Colossians Verse 15, of this chapter who has the fleet? All right back there field. And oil principalities and powers, may show them openly triumphing over them, right in His resurrected body. In His resurrected body, Jesus Christ appeared to the spirit in prison. Peter says, Remember, we're not going to look this up tonight. But there are some of you in here who certainly remember, he appeared in His resurrected body to the imprisoned spirits, who had just been disobedient in the days of Noah, remember, and it caused the whole world to go fluid. In His resurrected body, he appeared to them. And he witness to them it says, He witnessed through the mobility witness to him about the thing you witness to him about is that safe, Boyd inspired man to kill Jesus Christ, God had done a lot with raised Him from the dead. And in His resurrected body, he went to these levels. And he said, God has raised me and therefore I am about anything that you are your people that you inspired to do to me. This is why this verse has 15, having spoiled Prince apologies what principle? Now those three, and powers whose powers double spirit powers, he made a show of them openly. How did he make a show of them openly? Because they had crucified Him. Remember, they had inspired the man who did the crucifixion. And now with the resurrection, he had made a sale of their watch openly and he spy over them. It is not wonderful. He triumphed over them in Yep. This is why any season six. Go back a few pages. Look at season six. The greatest epistle written to the church is the season. He pays in six verse 12, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this life, against spiritual wickedness, strung on high, high places. The whole verse is talking about our Babel, our rough what it looks, it looks sense knowledge wise, like you're wrestling against the person, right? But do you know something that never is uracil against one individual or another or against groups? It's always Satan, inspired. By we wrestle not against flesh and blood, or right if we wrestle not against flesh and blood in our fighters never against one, flesh and blood, but against those people, or others who are inspired by Satan. That's the only place you can ever wrestle again. But you see, we've been so deluded, we think it's old Herman fighting bale and Josephine fighting Susie to win one neighbor against another that we do not wrestle place against place, or bone against both we wrestle against spiritual power. And he overcame that he paralyzed, he gave them the death dealing blow. This is why we are more than conquerors to Him who loved us and He gave Himself for this is why he came that we might have life and have it hell, more abundantly. This is why Philippians 419 says, I can do all things through my feet post rain than me Yes. See, why? Because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers. And he that is in us the scripture says He is greater than what he that's in the world, every seasons foreword by what a wonderful word of God, he seasons for the seeds of greatness of Christ's death, his resurrection, and His ascension and what he accomplished for those who say Wherefore he says, How many seasons for everything. When He ascended upon high, he learned what he liked captivity captive. What did he leave test The Satanic enslavement with which people have been involved and surrounded for so many, many years. Those things are that we wrote about it in season six a moment ago. spiritual wickedness on high principalities and powers all of these things.
55:19
These very devil spirits who had led people astray and defeated them. He Jesus Christ led captive. This is why it says He led captivity taxes because they were the devil spirits that were enslaving people stop taking them captive. Now Jesus Christ being big to over them, take them captive, therefore he lived captivity tax you for us who was out believing? It's silly. Not for the operation Max's there. But what else he said. He liked captivity cats even did what gave gifts unto men gave gifts on command. Now verses nine and 10 are parentheses. And I'd like for you to remember that because really we should read on from the end of verse eight to verse 11. He gave gifts on demand, verse 11. And what else he gave some of apostle when he gave gifts on demand, when he gave gifts on demand, what gifts did he give? Verse 11. He gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, he gave these as gifts. When He led captivity taps on his ascension. He gave gifts on demand. Why did he give the gift on the day of what Handicar on the day of Pentecost, He gave gifts on demand. He gave the gift of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, verse 12, follow up for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of us, for the edifying the building up for the body of Christ. This is why we have apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, and these are gifts from God's gifts from that because when He ascended up into heaven, He led captivity captive and the church down here needed an armor, they needed a weapon. They needed something whereby they could walk with an Air Force, base and center go and with the power of God, and you know what they needed apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers and parents, for the perfecting of the saints for the building up to the body of Christ. But you know what I was taught. We don't have any apostles anymore. We don't have any prophets, or wanting to read the next verse, verse 1011 1213, until until we all come in the unity of the faith of our knowledge of a son of God onto a perfect man under the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. And ladies and gentlemen, one will that be when he comes back.
