Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

By means of Dr. Wierwille's dynamic teaching of the accuracy and integrity of God's Word, foundational class and advanced class graduates of Power for Abundant Living have learned that the one great requirement for every student of the Bible is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Thus, his presentation of the Word of God was designed for students who desire the in-depth-accuracy of God’s Word.

In his many years of research, Dr. Wierwille studied with such men as Karl Barth, E. Stanley Jones, Glenn Clark, Bishop K.C. Pillai, and George M. Lamsa. His formal training included Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Mission House (Lakeland) College and Seminary. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he received a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology. Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.

Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Books by Dr. Wierwille include: Are the Dead Alive Now? published in 1971; Receiving the Holy Spirit Today published in 1972; five volumes of Studies in Abundant Living— The Bible Tells Me So (1971), The New, Dynamic Church (1971), The Word's Way (1971), God's Magnified Word (1977), Order My Steps in Thy Word (1985); Jesus Christ Is Not God (1975); Jesus Christ Our Passover (1980); and Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed (1982).

Dr. Wierwille researched God's Word, taught, wrote, and traveled worldwide, holding forth the accuracy of God's "wonderful, matchless" Word.

SUMMARY KEYWORDS:

I want to share some things with you from the Word of God regarding what the resurrection gives us. In other words, what does the resurrection have for those of us who are living this day, and in this hour, during the 20th chapter of the Gospel of John, we have a tremendous record, the first day of the week, verse 100, Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark under the carpet, and see if the stone taken away from this Apple could then see runners, and Kamaka, Simon Peters, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved and set under them, they have taken away the Lord out of the supper, and we know not where they have laid him. Peter, therefore went forward, and that other disciple, and came to the supper club. So they ran both together. And the other disciple did Out Run theater, and came first to the supper. And he stooping down and looking in style, the linen clothes line, yet when he nodded, then Thomas, Simon Peter, following Him, and went into the supper, and see if the linen flows left, and the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen float, but wrapped together in a place by itself, then went in, out so that other disciples, which came first to the supper, Kurt, and he saw, and Billy, verse nine, or is yet they do not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away, again, onto their own, Oh, what an astounding reality that must have been to marry on this Easter Sunday morning, when she came to the sepal, Kurt early in the morning, to perform that custom of taking care of the burial of the death. And to find when she got there to that step occurred, that it was empty. She didn't turn around to investigate. It says in verse two, that she run up, she turned around, and she ran back to that place where the apostles and some of the disciples were staying. And she said to Simon, Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, he said unto them, they have taken away my load out of the separate group. And we do not know where they have laid it. When she came to that separate career, that Easter Sunday morning, and the owners role, but he never stopped to stay around at that particular incident. He just took that. And she ran back. And she said, she cried to Peter and his other disciples, he said, they've taken away my Lord, they've stolen him. And that was almost unbelievable. You know why? Because of the sacredness with which the Jews bury their dead. You just do not touch the body. You don't desecrate them in any way, shape and form. And to think that someone would have dared to steal the body just shook her. Just disturb her knowing. This is why this scripture says she run him. He turned around and she ran back to where Simon Peter and some of the other disciples were staying. And she reported this truth, which is stipulated in here. What difference between a separate Karina tubes should be understood.

03:54

I think there's a marked difference in this because you can have a two without a separate but a separate is a toad. A separate is a memorial.

04:11

It's a memorial. It has like many times you would refer to large granite stones or something of all the beautiful carvings and it just makes it a memorial for a family. Now as soon as someone is buried in that Suffolk or at that place, a memorial that poker becomes a two. Now, this poker had been closed with a large stone. It had been officially sealed by government orders. And yet somehow or other, this was broken open. And the record here in John 20 does not tell us that Jesus arose on the Easter Sunday morning, because we know from the accuracy of God's words, that he arose honorably Update the third day and Easter Sunday happens to be the birthday. But he appeared, he appeared on Easter Sunday. He appeared on to them on Easter this side note, but I'd like for everybody to carefully know that it does not say in John chapter 20 And verse one and following that Jesus arose at this time. It says that the first day of the week when Mary Magdalene he came to the separator what time of the day was it? It was early, early, early in the morning. Added was yet that it was just beginning to break date became, and when she came at that time, what had occurred, the subwoofer wasn't, it doesn't say just got up them. But this was, was the first one to arrive at the poker after the resurrection of bologna. After this report came back to Peter, and to the other disciples of Jesus love, these two started running word, this place, they couldn't imagine that anyone would have taken away, this body would have stolen it, because that was the height of degradation. So they ran. And when they came, they're the one disciple of them. But Peter wasn't quite so hesitant. When Peter came back, he just went right in. And he said, the linen clothes. And you know what that means? This, this linen clothes, was the wrapping. They were the wrapping that Nick a demon had placed around Jesus, after Joseph of era mithya had placed him in his own tomb or suffered. Mary Magdalene and the other in Jerusalem did not know that Nick edemas had done. And therefore, he came on this path Easter Sunday morning, to do to the body of Jesus that was the custom of the burial of their people. But Nick Demers had already accomplished this before. And when they came in their base, when Peter came in, he sold the linen clothes line, the linen wrapping. They were the wrappings that were used for the burial of the dead. about 100 pounds of aloes and other mixtures put together, they would take those wrappings about the width of three of my fingers, you ladies, maybe a little four fingers, but about this wide. And then they would put this point on there and wrap the whole body all the way from their feet all the way on up. And then they would take the more disappointment, and put it over the top of the wrapping up. If they had any leftover, they would place it in the bottom of the tube. And they'd lay the individual on top of it. This was the manner in which they did these things. Now the word of God says that when Jesus died, the soldiers came along and they pierced his side. And both with there came out blood and water. People Have you ever thought about this great reality. That if that's trusting of the Spirit in the sight of Jesus had not killed it. Those 72 hours in the two, three days and three nights rolled up in that rapid with all these appointments around him, which had solidified become solid. That would have killed when Peter Webb said, he sees something there. When this beloved disciple of sin, you know what he said? Then when and also that other disciple, which came first to the separator, and he saw and was really, in verse seven, it says, the nap that was about his hip. In other words, covering his word, the nostrils would be in the mouth. This was the only opening that was left this area. And this was covered with a clamp like thing a nap. That laughs With the linen clothes, it was aligned with that in which Jesus had been wrapped. But it was passed away in a corner, sort of in a niche of the tool, and it was rolled up, wrapped up and laid neatly in a place. I've often thought about this, only God would have someone like Jesus whom He resurrected, take the time, after the resurrection, to take that napkin and roll it up so wonderfully, and put it up in a little corner by itself. The average person would think what if you got up, you just leave everything and get out? Right? You didn't do it that way. wrapped it up, placed it in a nice little place. Oh, my God would act this way. What did they see that cause them properly? Storage? Yep. They knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. He had told them about but they did not believe it. They couldn't understand the scriptures they didn't understand. That did they see that I was probably the only thing that could possibly have seen was this empty, like cocoon. This wrapping this wrapping in which his whole body had been in case with a smile, aperture of a smile opening of the mouth and the eye. They look, they saw this thing which had been there for 72 hours. It had hold. And when they looked at it, there it was, but there was no body in it. There was no things inside. That's what they saw. And that's why they believe they cause had someone stolen the body of Jesus, they couldn't have gotten the body without taking the wrappings along right. Therefore, the thing that caused Peter and that other disciple to believe that God had raised they've done the dead is they serve this in which he was bearing was still there, that Jesus wasn't there. You know about people? They are a church did not try. No. Nor did the early church need to prove that Jesus rose from the dead. It was axiomatic. It was a self evident reality on fact. Why? Because it happened out in the open where everybody could go and see. And you imagine for one minute that Herod wouldn't go, can you imagine pilot didn't go a lot about the members of the Sanhedrin. Not about those who were in government rulership of authority in the government of Rome. Not about because they had sealed officially seal the toe. You mean to tell me they wouldn't go? Why you people even go. There's something like this occurred in your town. That because of all the great religious leaders in the world, no one had ever gotten up before. Here was the first time that they were all the wrappings and everything else that there was the body and and there's only one thing could have happened. And that is that God must have raised Him from the dead. People. This resurrection shook the very foundations of Jerusalem. I know the people that lived in that area, it really rocked me.

13:46

And they found that open tomb and are open separated by the bow when they looked in. And when they looked in all they saw was that Peter and that beloved disciple I'd seen which caused them to bury, this is why some 50 days later, you will recall on the day of Pentecost, when Peter preaches that first sermon, there are about 3000 souls saved on the first preaching. Because this had caused such a great amount of when fusion interest, everything else in that community that the people were just shocked by the very foundation. This resurrects the noble lord Jesus Christ is the greatest reality in the world today. And just because somebody comes along, and they would say, Well, I do not believe that he was resurrected from the dead. I'd like to say to the people who say that, that the people that that time who were there who saw it are certainly historically more accurate in their presentation than someone living through worth 3000 years after the incident, scientifically, their logic would be accepted more so than those living 3000 years later and denying the reality of the resurrection. But you and I have a proof. We have something in the resurrection, which is absolutely indisputable, even in this day, and in this hour. And it's some of these things that I want to cover with you tonight in this teaching ministry. I'd like for you to turn to Revelation the book or ramblings? Chapter one. What does the resurrection mean to us? To you and me. Some of these are just little two little lights that will help us to understand a little bit of Revelation Chapter One. Verse 17. When I saw him, I felt his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me saying unto me, fair enough, I am the First and the Last. I have been that way ever liver was dead. And behold, I am alive forever, forever, no. And I have the keys of hell. And the word Howlers, the word Hades, the Great, the keys of the grave, and of death. This is something you and I have in the resurrection of Christ. The guarantee promise, the guarantee of being the big story over the grave and over death. That is a terrible enemy. The grave is a whole reality. And yet in the resurrection, we have to have the guarantee that he arose. And because heroes we too, are the victors over the grave and over death. In the book of Hebrews chapter two verse 14 as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also Jesus Christ, Himself, likewise took part of the same. That through death, he might destroy him that has the power of death, that is the devil, who has the power of death, that the devil, he's got the power that Jesus Christ came according to the records that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, to destroy the words to say, the rock and to ruin his kingdom to utterly paralyze it as Rob rather a handful. I don't particularly like the word Paradise because I think there's much more to it than just paralyzing. But Rotter. Ham translates this particular load, that through death, he might paralyze him, that has the power of death, that is the devil. I like much better the accuracy of the King James there where it says that he might destroy him, utterly not paralyzed, but to destroy him, who has the power of death. That is that I do not know how many of you people saw in your papers, or nationally, I forget now, what some of our people in in Minnesota, I remember correctly, who sent us a picture of land family, wasn't it? Where there were five children died last week, and a few words, at the same time for our five children of the same family. And all through the teaching of that man. He said, how God had taken these children. Why is the Bible says that death is by no means what it says that it says what it means. Then why blame God? Who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. That's doubly Payton is the author of death. God sent Jesus Christ and God reigns up Jesus Christ, that He could be the victor over death and, and the great and to be this has to be a victory over Satan because Satan, the devil is the author of death. God is the author of life. He came We might have life and have it more abundantly. Satan is always concerned about decreasing our life and decreasing our effectiveness. So in the resurrection, in this resurrection, we have the promise of the destruction of Satan, who is the author of some of these other great crews are written in collaboration for him to blossom. Ephesians Philippians Colossians chapter two verse 15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, this is what we have in his resurrection. This is what he did in his resurrection is full of principalities and powers. He made a show of them openly, by answering over them in it. He triumphed over all principalities and powers. I'm in Colossians, 250. And he made a show of them openly. He's, he was bigger than all the principalities and powers. And as he arose again, from the dead, he openly declared that he had spy on over them. In Chapter One of class, in verse 30. You have this tremendous troops, who have past tense, who have past tense, they liberate us from the power of darkness, and has translated us, translated us into the kingdom of his dear son. He has delivered us from the power of darkness. And he translated us into God's kingdom. He translated us into his own kingdom, by that which was accomplished through Christ Jesus, not a tremendous, this is what we have, then we've already been translated, we've already been delivered. In Romans chapter 10. Very familiar passage of scripture to men and women, young people have been in my classes across the country. In verse nine, if thou shalt confess with by mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt do this we have in the resurrection. Without the resurrection, you could not have this. You could confess with your mouth to you're blue in the face, you still couldn't be BORN AGAIN of God's Spirit, because in the resurrection we have made available to us, the new birth, that which God wept, that then they are with the heart, very stem, man believe with underwriters and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. This is why you can understand the revelation in second Corinthians chapter five.

23:23

Second Corinthians, chapter five, verse 17, therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creator. Oh, things are passed away, behold, our thing become due. And all things birth at all things are bad, who have past tense, reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and as committed unto us by word of reconciliation, verse 20, verse 20, Niall then, now when because of that we have in the resurrection, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us, we pray you in Christ said be reconciled to God, for he has made him Jesus to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This is some of the things we have in the resurrection, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. No person can ever walk with an effervescence and a glow in this light. No person can walk with an easiness through this light unless he knows what he has in Christ. And when you want to begin to realize what God has wrapped in Christ, and you appropriated and yourself and begin to let in the greatness of that, then you'll begin to gel and manifest the infinite presence and the power, the love and the wonderfulness that God is love. There is a scripture in First Corinthians that just thrilled by heart, in chapter one of First Corinthians, very few of you may have ever paid any special attention to it. But it's a tremendous script. chapter one, verse nine, that is faith, by hope. He worked cloud, until the fellowship of His Son, Jesus, rice, our alone, by who you were called, by God, you weren't called into the fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ, called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ, who is our lap, he is our float, and we're called into fellowship with him. Look at what that gives us. A tremendous reality that is full of a man or a woman who really wants to tap the resources for the more abundant life to realize that God has told us and because God forbid, we heard that we did what we read in Romans tonight, confessed with our mouths, the Lord Jesus believed God raised Him from the dead. And God gave us salvation, He told war, I want a tremendous reality. That is, you know, there is no person in here who can prove that George Washington was the President of the United States. And unless you take somebody else's word for something that somebody else has written, because the reason I believe that George Washington was president of the United States is because I read it in a book. First of all, I had a teacher to tell me, then I read it later on myself. Let's suppose the teacher ally, the poll was the book by then I still believe that there was a George Washington, he was president of the United States, I still would be wrong right. Now, the people who went to that open some poker that day, and that open toed that day when Jesus was raised, those who went there, maybe for a week or two or a month, I don't know, they serve. And they believe because of updates up, you have never seen. And yet you believe you're believing must be entirely on a different basis. I sat down with people, that little handful of us that was gathered in prayer here this morning, I sat down with people here this morning.

28:24

I have something more certain in Christ Jesus, than any man out there believe that George Washington was the President of the United States.

28:41

That's right. You remember many times you read, especially you young men that are in college, you've heard them talk about the historical gene, you have to have something Sure, than the historical Jesus really manifest and work with the greatness of the power, you will have to have something much more certain than that. They thought they could have lived, they could have written. The record that is given here in the Bible could be well, somebody could have fabricated the whole day. Because you and I were not there 2000 years ago, and yet we believe it or not, I've got something more than just the testimony of history. I have what it says in Romans 10 Nine which we read tonight, confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus believe God raised Him from the dead. And I have that oh, so which came to pass on the day of Pentecost, when they confessed with their mouth the Lord Jesus. Believe God raised Him from the dead they were filled with the Holy Spirit and based faith With the speaking in tongues is the group that I have that Christ is resurrected, I do not, I do not need the testimony of if I do not have to have the historicity of Jesus was resurrected. I do not have to have the writing of Plato or Socrates or Aristotle, or any theologian. I have the reality of Christ with him. And I have the proof in the sense of rural, but I have him there, but God raised from the dead. This is a tremendous thing, you're either going to have to believe the writings of men and women, or you're going to have to read, relate this thing to your own life, and make it so short that to those types of because no person. No person can speak in tongues, except he's born again of God's Spirit. And to be born again of God's Spirit. God had to do some of these things and others that I read to you in the Word of God denied. Then when I confess with my mouth, the Lord Jesus, and I believe God raised Him from the dead. I've got this reality, but what proof do I have? Somebody will say, Well, I've thought about, my goodness, you can be baptized to float away. That's no proof. Right? Now, somebody else said, what I, I went through a period of fasting, or you're going fast, and you're starved to death. That's no proof. Somebody else was given other things. All of the things I know, it's the word of God. Are in First Corinthians chapter 12, are people. And no man can say, No man can really say that Jesus is the Lord in his life, perhaps Bye, do my heart God by the Holy Spirit. No man can really say that Jesus is the Lord in his life, except by the Holy Spirit as He speaks in tongues, then you've got the proof in the sense of hope that Christ is with it.

32:26

The thing that you can counter that my people the Bible says that, that devil spirits can prophesy. Devil spirits can counterfeit word of knowledge, where the wisdom the other spirits, counterfeit discerning of spirits, faith, miracle, bad enough, there is only one thing that they cannot do. No devil spirit can speak in tongues, because to speak in tongues, you must have ice with him. And if ice did not rise again, from the depth, then our faith is in vain, our ability to get in vain, then I could not have received Him nor you, then you could not speak in tongues, nor anybody else. But if God raised Him from the dead, and He ascended up into heaven, and he said, for this week to now see and hear, accept your job, and we get born again of God's Spirit. Then we manifest in the census world. And when we manifest it forth, we know he's been here that God must have gotten what I want wonderful, oh, my goodness, about a Methodist in the place. We come on time, one might say, man. I don't care whether you say it out loud, as long as you say it on the inside. As long as this thing gels within your soul, the God's people, the greatest reality in the world is to be born again a God Spirit, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. And you've got the proof that God raised Him from the dead. The greatest thing in the whole world, all the other most outstanding religious leaders of our history of our time, right man, the Buddha's right man, the right man, the Mohammed, great man, that when they died, they state that not one ever got up the proof that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, is that bad wait in somebody's head, and the proof that he is within you is in the operation of the manifestation of this. A lot, a tremendous day, an hour. This is not a tremendous day or a tremendous time. So that we can walk with an effervescence and with a glow with a certainty that we are more than conquerors through him who loved us and who gave him such and as it says in Colossians We are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power, you are complete. This is why our young people, our children, our adults, are walking forward with an effervescence and with a glow. Because they have again come to the place that they believe God's word is God's will. And they work on that word. And as they work on it, they see the manifestation of the power. And once you see the greatness of that manifestation, you just know without a shadow of a doubt, that God raised Him from the dead, for you have that power God within, or how grateful and how thankful I am, that when God raised Him from the dead, he said him power above our principality and power, and that in him we are more than conquerors that he has already translated us into the kingdom of is your son, that we are complete, that we are ambassadors for him that he has given to us, the ministry of reconciliation and the word to carry the ministry on. Isn't this a tremendous day and a tremendous lot a wonderful, glorious time. It should be for every person in this auditorium tonight and for the people listening by radio will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ that God raised Him from the dead what a tremendous day it ought to be. The span was great Bovis and with great courage, in this day, an hour of the time of our history of these our United States, shall we pray, our thought and our thoughts on to whom every heart is open, and unto me for every desire. I like Thank you, Father, for that which not our doing among our people here tonight in this auditorium. And I thank you for that we are doing among the people who are listening by radio. And Father we just praise the unsafety for the resurrection of our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ. I like praise thee and thank you but that it was Jesus Christ, who has led us from slavery to sonship or has led us out of fear to the mastery of life was led us from hell to heaven, who has led us from the grave to everlasting. Other for this high praise the unseen through Christ Jesus, our living Lord, Amen.
