Philippians 4:16

Philippians 4:16 (KJV)

16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

Philippians 4:16 (Literal)

16 Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent [abundant sharing] over and over for my need,

CONTEXT-Desire for fellowship, care and concern, and abounding fruit

Philippians 4:10-20

10 Now I rejoiced greatly in the lord when your concern for my welfare revived. Of course you were concerned but you lacked a convenient opportunity to demonstrate it. 11 (I do not talk about this because I am destitute; for I have learned by experience to be self-adequate in every situation. 12 I know how to live in need and how to live with abundance. I have learned the secret of living in every conceivable situation: whether I am full or I am hungry, whether I have abundance or I am destitute. 13 I am ready for anything and
equal to anything through Christ who infuses me with inner strength.) 14 In any case, you have done well in sharing abundantly with me
in my time of pressure. 15 Now you Philippian citizens also know that when I departed from Macedonia after beginning the work of the gospel there, no church except you shared abundantly with me in the matter of giving and receiving. 16 Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent [abundant sharing] over and over for my need, 17 not that I desire a gift, but I earnestly desire fruit which will cause more than abundance in your account. 18 I acknowledge receipt of everything and I have abundance. I have been completely filled to capacity since I have received from Epaphroditus that which you sent, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 So my God shall supply in full all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 Glory and praise to God our Father forever. Amen.
