Bringing People Back to God
This recording was done while preparation for what eventually became the Love Never Fails album, which was released in 1987. It is a recording that was intended to be more of a working copy rather than a public release. It was done on ½ inch reel to reel and immediately copied to cassette. (When we worked on recording, Lisa would sometimes record a song just for herself so that she could determine if there were changes that should be made. This was one of those recordings.) For some reason, we decided against including this on Love Never Fails and we never took the time to polish up the recording. We no longer have the ½ inch master. Many of the songs Lisa was writing at the time were written to appeal to those without an extensive knowledge of God’s Word and to encourage them to “take a look”. The Love Never Fails album ended up going in a little bit different direction than that. The incident mentioned in this song really happened. The person is a real friend. Lisa can still see in her mind exactly where they were. It is kind of fun to remember how you were introduced to Jesus Christ and to the Word of God. It is even more fun to do the same for someone else.
