Fanny Crosby, a famous blind hymn writer, was an American poet, lyricist, composer, and mission worker. What Fanny lacked in physical vision she made up for in mental alertness and spiritual insight. Her heart could see what her eyes did not. Passion, versatility, and compassion for mankind are an integral part of her writings. She stored lovely visions of the fleeting clouds, the star-studded heavens, and glorious sunsets, as depicted in the word pictures she lovingly penned. Fanny Crosby Collection includes three of her earliest books: In 1844 she gave the world her first book of poetry entitled The Blind Girl and Other Poems; Monterey and Other Poems was published in 1849; in 1858, her third book, A Wreath of Columbia's Flowers, containing four short stories and 30 poems was published. Her God-centered life comes to light through the musicality, rhythm and images of her poetry.
