Victor Paul Wierwille was a Bible scholar and teacher for over four decades.

By means of Dr. Wierwille's dynamic teaching of the accuracy and integrity of God's Word, foundational class and advanced class graduates of Power for Abundant Living have learned that the one great requirement for every student of the Bible is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Thus, his presentation of the Word of God was designed for students who desire the in-depth-accuracy of God’s Word.

In his many years of research, Dr. Wierwille studied with such men as Karl Barth, E. Stanley Jones, Glenn Clark, Bishop K.C. Pillai, and George M. Lamsa. His formal training included Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Mission House (Lakeland) College and Seminary. He studied at the University of Chicago and at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he received a Master of Theology degree in Practical Theology. Later he completed his work for the Doctor of Theology degree.

Dr. Wierwille taught the first class on Power for Abundant Living in 1953.

Books by Dr. Wierwille include: Are the Dead Alive Now? published in 1971; Receiving the Holy Spirit Today published in 1972; five volumes of Studies in Abundant Living— The Bible Tells Me So (1971), The New, Dynamic Church (1971), The Word's Way (1971), God's Magnified Word (1977), Order My Steps in Thy Word (1985); Jesus Christ Is Not God (1975); Jesus Christ Our Passover (1980); and Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed (1982).

Dr. Wierwille researched God's Word, taught, wrote, and traveled worldwide, holding forth the accuracy of God's "wonderful, matchless" Word.

SUMMARY KEYWORDS: reasoning, holiness, Romans, called, spirit, son, spiritual gift, grace, believing, Jesus Christ

We could take your Bibles, please and turn to the book of Romans. The Book of Romans is the first great revelation that was given to the Church of the body. I think you could literally call the book of Romans, the Magna Carta of Christian freedom or Christian liberty. I want to handle the first chapter of this book with you tonight. And I trust that if you have the time, or take the time, that this week, you're just sit down and read it. Just read the whole book. You don't have to work it down, like I'm going to do tonight. But you ought to get the impact of it. The Book of Romans will show you the great grace of God. Most of the Christian believers are still tied up in work. They say they're saved by grace, but they act like they're saved by works. And if this is true, then nothing is left in the Christian field. The Book of Romans is very pointed, very specific. It's very direct. Verse one, Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, the word servant, basically as the word slave, the Greek word doula, Paul, a slave, you've got to sell out. If you're going to really carry the greatness of God's word, you got to be sold out to that word. It's not just to be a servant, it's to be a slave. One who is bonded, one who is committed one who is absolutely sold out. And the word Jesus Christ are accurate in their usage. Whenever a person is sold out to the Lord, he is a slave on an horizontal plane for Jesus, the Christ. As you know, from former teaching in the word and from other places in the word, that it never says that the Christian is in Jesus Christ. We are never Jesus's. We are always in Christ, Jesus. The Bible said that we were in Jesus Christ the book and follow the pieces. We are not in Jesus Christ, we are in Christ Jesus. But on an horizontal level, on a horizontal plane, as we ministered to people, we are servants, slave bonded slaves of Jesus on our horizontal level, who is the Christ. He was cold. He wasn't educated. Education helps if you're called. But you can be educated to you're blue in the face. And never be called. Just because a man goes through four years of college, and three years of seminary work, doesn't qualify him for any pulpit in any church. The qualification has to be in a perpendicular relationship. If he's called up God, then the education is wonderful. But if he's not called God, all the education in the world won't make him one. Paul was an apostle, called, of God, as an apostle. And Apostle is one who brings new light to his generation, it may be old, but it's new to the generation to whom he speaks. called to be an apostle, separated, separated, closed off unto the gospel of God. He's just separated. He isn't contaminated with 1000, different philosophic, allottee or theological opinions, he's dedicated to one thing. That is the gospel, the good news from God. It's put in a genitive case the gospel of God in the genitive case. To emphasize that it is God's gospel, the emphasis is on the word God, not on the gospel. That's why it's in the genitive case, separated unto God, gospel, gospel of God which he verse two had it scratched, like the derby. It's not in the text, ah ad scraps, which he promised afore by His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning his son. Let me read, delete the word Jesus Christ our Lord and read the rest of the phrase, let me read the next two verses as they are, and then I'll pick it up for you in detail concerning his son, who was made of the seed of David, according to the place, and mark out, declared, The Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Those are verses three and four. Concerning his son, then the words, Jesus Christ, our Lord come at the tail end of verse four. That's where they appear in the text. Concerning his son, God's son, who was made of the seed of David, can God be made? No, but here's what son can be made of the seed of David. According to the place and declared to the word declared, is this word meeting marked out. It isn't the unfold but it's one that was marked out, declared, marked out the Son of God, with power, he was marked out as the Son of God. With power. The again the, the genitive of God, the preposition with all of these things emphasize words, in their usage. That's why they're set this way. He was marked out God's Son, powerfully, or powerfully God's Son according to the spirit of what holiness and hearing your King James, the word spirit is lowercase, and the word holiness is lowercase. If they ever should have had an uppercase in the Bible, this should have been it. Because this refers to God. He's the one who marked him out right? He was marked out the Son of God, the powerful Son of God or God's powerful son, according to spirit, a Noma of holiness. This word holiness means no foreign mixture of any kind.

08:44

This could not be said of Jesus Christ. Why? Because we have just read that he was of the seed of David. Therefore this word is only used of God, never of Jesus Christ. God Jesus Christ was born of the flesh, right? Therefore he would have can contaminations surrounding him. But God is so pure, that there is no foreign particle of contamination around him or available to him. That's why this word is used. Only used I think, three times in the Bible, and I got to check them all out for you and didn't do it given to you. And you can check them Second Corinthians seven one for Thessalonians 330. But this is that spirit of holiness. This and these are the verses you know when I teach the class foundational class and show you the words for new, my hog young, that they relate both to God and to his gift. God is Spirit. And God is holy. He is so holy, that is holy Ness, to the end that there is absolutely no foreign contamination of any kind, get him

10:33

now this marked out Son of God, powerfully, according to the spirit of holiness, according to God, he was marked out. And what marked him out as the sun, not only his birth, but being God's son, when God raised Him, by the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Oh, that's just fantastic, beautiful, simple, perfect, great, magnificent, just no adjectives to describe it. It's just the truth of God's word. It's that resurrection. That's the pivotal point. And as I have I taught you hundreds of times, in the so called Christianity of our time, the resurrection is basically not the pivotal point in the general symbolism and teaching of our day. It's always the cross. On top of those things, that you can't do much the towers, you know, where we spend a lot some money going straight up in the air, why do we put it the top of it across the center of so called Christianity Today is for most people are cross, not in order. The center of the word for the believer of the Body of Christ is the resurrection. That's why later on in Romans, when it correlates all of this, it says, regarding salvation, that a man must confess with his mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe it is heart that God has loved, raised Him from the dead. And he builds it immediately in the book of Romans. He was marked out as God's powerful son, because God raised him somebody. Boy, that's beautiful. You know, that's the first thing that said about him. In this great book aroma, basically, told him you're born a woman that's beautiful, but that God resurrected him and marked him out as his son by the Spirit of holiness by God himself. By whom very fun. By whom? By Jesus Christ, our Lord, by whom we have, we have. We have, if we've got it, we've got it right. If we have it, we have it.

13:35

We have received grace and apostleship. We have received apostolic grace by Jesus Christ. Our Lord, we have received this apostolic grace. The word grace is charisma, divine favor.

14:06

We have received apostolic grace, because an apostle is one called and stand who brings the Word and the Word is already always charisma, always grace to the heart of the believer. It's by God's mercy and by God's grace, that this is available to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. We receive grace and apostleship. For obedience to the faith. The faith is the family faith to which we belong. When we're born again of God's Spirit, God's our Father, we are His children that makes up the paint among all nations, for His name among all nations, referring here specifically to the Gentiles among whom? The nation are ye also the cold of Jesus Christ. To all that be in Rome, the love of God. That's the word the awfulness of acts one remember, beloved of God, called saints. Grace carries my divine favor to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. You see, we have received apostolic grace, we've got it. It's Grace. Grace is divine favor, it's unmerited. It's just something that God gives, because God loves. And the church or body stands in apostolic grace. And we've got peace. Peace, we've got it. From God, our Father, we're no longer at loggerheads with God. There is no enmity between God and the believer. Our standing is one of grace, our standing is one apiece, and all the rest that goes with it, versus I thank my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all, that you're believing word faith is believing is spoken out throughout the entire world. Now, the entire world didn't mean the United States. The word world you have to see it in the light of the context in which you choose from Rome and the outreaching area where they were, the word was moving. That they're believing they're believing they're believing was spoken of. It doesn't say their knowledge of the word. It doesn't say a lot of other things. But it says that the thing that they were really known for is that they believe, you don't need to know much word to believe. Most people know too much word and believe too little. They were known because they believed. And if you understand the background of the book of Romans, if you understand what was happening in Rome at the time, the persecution that was going on, then you begin to see that these people really had to take a stand and it did. Verse nine, for God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit. If he serves it with His Spirit, there's only two ways you can go on this word. It either means with His Spirit, by his physical strength, his soul, or whom he says spiritually in the gospel of his son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers without ceasing does not mean all the time, but it means without forgetfulness. You know, I didn't forget them for a week or two or three months. But day after day, as he prayed for them, he lifted that believers in Rome

19:09

What else did he pray for? He said, verse 10, making requests if by any means, if there's any way open. Now, that I may have a prosperous journey that I can come on to you, by the will of God, the Lima, Gods sending the revelation manifestations are involved here where the knowledge where the wisdom to come unto you. Or as far as he was concerned, he longed to do what I longed to what see you right. He long the season. You know, I'm thinking going Europe this fall. I long to go to Europe, I longed to see the people in Europe that we taught the Word to England. I longed to see those people but unless the will other of God is for me to go, I'm not gonna go. A man may have a desire to do something, but the will of God may not be that particular desire of that man. That's what Paul is saying. He said, he had a longing to come, but only would he come if it was the dilemma, the will of God. I think it's the will of God for me to go to Europe. I just don't know if it's the will of God for me to go in September, October or next year. That's what you have to find out. That's the way you have to leave. You see another time there's another record. In Macedonia, remember, where the word said that they had, Paul had this dream or vision what it was, and he was called into Macedonia or something. But he wasn't free to go on till the word of the Lord King. Most of us conditioned our lives, but we what we desire. Until we get to the ship, place where we are certain about God's will, our desires can be erroneous, or out of timing, especially. Now his desire, Paul's desire was to go when the will of the Lord would send him for one purpose, that he might impart onto you some spiritual gift to the end that you may be established, rooted, grounded. spiritual gift is the word pneumatic coach carries Ma. Therefore, he was not going over there to impart the gift of speaking in tongues because there isn't any gift like this. He wasn't going over there to impart any of those manifestations he was going over there to impart some spiritual gifts. There are only five apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. These are the spiritual gifts. And these in the body of believers is what establishes them, it routes the it gives them a reason for the faith, the testimony, the word of God that's in them. This was why he wanted to go to root them to establish their believing their believing was known throughout the entire area, right. But what was happening in Rome, they still needed more of the accuracy of God's word to route them. And this is why Paul wanted to go to establish them in a spiritual gift. Every commentary flips on this thing. They're not worth reading. You understand what new Monaco's carries my our spiritual gifts this way down in there only five listed in Ephesians, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, they are the ones who establish

24:00

they are root, the ones who root the body of believers. So they know that they know that they know that they know and don't get pushed around with every wind or doctrine or philosophical or theological ideas. Close to that is for the purpose, also a verse coil, that I may be comforted together with you by the faith. Both of you and me. I think this word faith here is the word believing that I may be comforted because the man who ministers the Word of God is comforted when the people to whom he ministers understand it and grow in it, and stand in it. Verse 30. Now I would not have you ignorant brother. Here's one of the usages of not ignorant. Means he wants to smartened up, wants us to know the score, the knowledgeable all times i purpose to come on to you. You've been wanting to go I longed to see you, but was left here there to lead here there too is Old English. hindered is the word but was hindered, hindered could know, for what reason did he want to go, that I might have some fruit among you Oh, so even as among other Gentiles among whom he ministered. I am debtor verse 14, in depth, both to the Greeks to the barbarians, both to the wise and the unweit. That is the learned and the unintelligent one. So as much verse 15, as in me as is. So as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are Romo's. So for I am not ashamed of the gospel, the words of Christ are not in the text. I'm not ashamed of the gospel. What God's the gospel of God a verse one, what he's talking about, and he is going to impart the spiritual gift to establish them because he was called to be an apostle. That's the spiritual gift. And a man called to be an apostle, when he shares that word will establish the people who hear it unbelieving, but I'm not ashamed of the gospel, the good news of God. For this gospel, it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it is a Jew first on the day of Pentecost, remember, and then to the Greeks, the Gentiles, for Darien, there in Larian, in the gospel of God, for Darien, in the gospel of God, is the righteousness of God revealed. from faith to faith, the righteousness of God we have covered the while ago, the spirit of holiness. Well how holy is holy, uncontaminated. And therefore, this here now the righteousness of God is as righteous as gone.

28:13

From believing, to believing, as it is written, that just shall live by faith. No, that just shall live by believing.

28:30

Because when God makes you righteous, He justifies you, or when he justifies you, he makes you up, righteous, and that's the righteousness of God. Now, since you have the righteousness of God, you have the peace of God and the other one I forgot already. We read a while ago, you have all of this. Now being just your to live by believing the just don't live by faith. People are justified by faith. By the faith of Jesus Christ, we are justified right. Being justified, we are just there for being just we have to live. How do we live now? We don't live by faith. We live having been justified by faith. We live by believing Martin Luther got this one all screwed up. We built the Reformation on the wrong dividing of the word but we still got part of a reformation we just never had a real reformation. We just celebrate the Sunday. Martin Luther didn't live long enough. Martin Luther was a Roman Catholic. And he came out of the Roman church because he was tossed out. Basically, he never wanted to depart from the Roman Catholic Church, he wanted to reform it. You can't reform old skin with new wine. Martin Luther didn't understand it, as I didn't understand it for many years. And so you pour your heart hoping and believing against the word and against everything else, that someday the machinery will accept it. Machinery never does. You can't put new wine into old skin. If Martin Luther could have lived longer, and would have lived longer, he had done a lot more thing. But the reason that he it's cut short, the Reformation was cut short because Luther didn't live long enough. That if Calvin or Swingley or not, and so we we still the Protestant churches still 60% Roman, in operation. Today, methods, everything else. Sorry, that's the tree. The Reformation would have to been build upon this thing that I'm confident is accurate in here. Because by sheer logic, the just if you're just something must have happened to you, or what happens to a man before he's just, he's got to get saved, right? BORN AGAIN of God's Spirit. And to do that, you must confess with your mouth. The Lord Jesus believed God raised Him from the dead and he reckons, right to sanctification, justification, redemption, all of those things. Now, I am just as the just one, justified by him, made righteous at him. Now living in this world, I can't live by faith I got saved by faith. Now, living in this world, after I'm saved, I have to live by one thing, believing that's why I know that verse is, The just shall live by beauty or safety. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness Now you hold that the just shall live by believing in all these other great truths. Now watch, the opposite come to pass on how he teaches this, how he sets this is this great first chapter of Romans against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of art who hold who hold down? Are who suppress that truth? who suppress the truth in their unrighteous. Why, because that which may be known of God is manifested unto them, for God, scratch have showed unto them lot, verse 20, the invisible things of him of God. From the creation of the world, the invisible things of God, God is Spirit, you can't see God. But God is powerful, God is righteous God is all of those things. The Bible declares him to be holiness, itself. All of these things of God are clearly seen. And they are understood all of these things of God, by the things that are made. The planets, the sun, the moon, the stars, everything. Even his eternal God's eternal power and Godhead. Godhead doesn't give you the Trinity gives you a god. Head, what it is, right? Head God, God, the head, even his eternal power. And God head is known by the things that are created so that these people who hold who hold down or who suppress the truth in unrighteousness in their lives, even those people are without odd excuse. That goes pretty well puts every man without what a man I don't like what you going to do about it? I didn't write the book. You don't like it complaint the management? Right? I see we have Dr. Volunteers, great work on witness of the stars. He takes some of these things through to show how that before the word of God was written. This was just not guesswork that our Father, correlated the troops from one generation to another and simply talk to him by witnessing in the stars and everything is written in God's creation, with the exception of the body, which is the mist. Everything else is in the storm. The first coming of the Lord, the return, everything's there. And yet men say how could they know God? God says or without excuse. You know why they don't want to know God because they don't want to know him. That's why they want to follow some pagan thing some thing that somebody they couldn't know what they don't want. And it tells you how it happened. That they got so far out and left field because that when they knew God they glorified Him, not as what? Neither were thankful but became vain in their imaginations in their reasoning. Or imaginations should be reasoning. In their thinking, they became vague, they flipped. And their foolish heart. Their hearts became foolish. By their reasoning, that's how they get foolish ideas. Your reasoning takes you down the drain. Their reasoning is what caused them to be foolish.

38:15

And this is what darkened their life Professing themselves to be wise, in their foolishness, they profess themselves to be wise, they just became a greater fool. And then after they did this by reasoning, reason, it is a tremendous thing it can take you down the drains of faster blow your mind. On the other hand, reasoning according to word can set you on a lot of high places can give you a great relief.

38:58

They changed verse 23, the glory of the uncorruptible God who is Spirit of our holiness, yet they change this into an image made like to corruptible man, image a man, you know, the St. Christopher do the pendants all this nice stuff, you know, birds, four footed bees, creeping things. Now you know Rome. All you need to do is go back, check out Rome, see what they had. Check out Egypt see what kind of little corruptible things they had that they worshipped. And because they did this verse 24 days word for God, scratch also. God gave them up to unclean. They gave him up, right? They tripped up themselves and therefore because they tripped themselves because they gave up God had to give. God just couldn't do anything about it through the lust of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between them. Who are it since day is the text, verse 25. Saints Day The people had changed the truth of God, the Spirit of Holiness, the righteousness, the resurrection, the piece everything else we read, they change the truth of God into a want and worship and serve the creature, that which they did of their own choosing more than the Creator. That true God who is but is the Blessed One forever. Because verse 26, for this would be better if you just had the word because Because of this, because they did all of this. God gave them up onto vile affections. vile affections our passions of infamy or even their women did change the not true us into that which is against what and likewise, demand also also has to go where I read it or you're at the wrong place. And likewise, the men also leaving the natural use of the woman burned in their lust one toward another man with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving back info in themselves that recompence retribution of their error their wickedness which was due them

42:48

you see when man goes by his reasoning rather than by the truth of God when he hits bottom with his reasoning he always comes up with homosexuality is and the lesbian gal.

43:09

Oh because the lowest thing on the totem pole is homosexuality. When a man has arrived at that spot, the word says he's cutting himself off from God I don't give out lunches likewise with other women that's what the words talking about in plain English nobody's ever so stupid that they can't understand it but they don't want to because we want the government protection for the homeless. We go march Washington with placards almost protect why don't they go home? Do some low APR. I can read this first chapter Romans eight just sounds like it was written this afternoon at four o'clock in our culture, worshipping things a man's hands, creations of man's hand little images. This that everything else. Reasoning. Why have you ever seen an age when there been any less reasoning than today man's always reasoning. And when man forsakes God, the true God and worship is worship started his own making more than the Creator who is blessed forever. Then he goes down the drain he gets into homosexuality. All the other lesbian jump and it's real. This is the kind of age we live in today.

45:13

The kind of society and somebody say, Well, boy, we we can't stand up against the homos. We don't try to the church in California, my own farmer denomination headed up the move to get the homos the freedom in the United States that if they want a home or they can Omo,

45:41

between two consenting adults, oh, not the birth says they didn't, verse 28, they did not like to retain God. In knowledge, they didn't want to know the true God.

46:10

They fell away therefore, God gave them up to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient, which are not kosher, which are not right. Which are dishonest, which are less being failed with all unrighteousness fornication is not in the text. Wickedness covetousness. maliciousness full of envy, murder. Debate is the word stripe deceit. Validity is mistake whispers backbiting God haters despiteful is the word insolent. Wow. posters. Yeah, and then tours of evil things. disobedient to parents. Without understanding covenant breakers law breakers agreement breakers. That's like you make an agreement today. Get an attorney somebody else gets an attorney Overcup the smartest attorney or whatever it is.

48:07

The Bible says yes yes no no I used to be not too many years ago I guess you could even do it on a handshake to man agree to something shake hands that was it. Or you had a small earnest to deposit that covered it. The day we write six 700 pages nobody can find through. Right and you got to hire another attorney to figure out what that under 30 days one corporation hires their battalion of attorneys the other corporation ours there. So we buy

48:49

Oh boy. Why don't we just read the Word of God. Change your attitude. Without natural affection. Without natural affection, you get involved in the home or deal and you rather be with a man than the best woman in the world she don't turn you on at all. Pretty low caste. Pretty sad state. When God originally made man and woman, man supposed turn a woman on woman's pose turning man on Word. Without natural affection in packable is scratched on merciful is pity less. Of you ask yourself why man can be so inhuman to his fellow man. Why they can drive things into their eyeballs, you know sticks into their eyeballs. Ticks underneath their fingers Put him through the brainwashing techniques Why does one man do this to another man because he's walked away from oh my god, and I guarantee you that whoever does that is involved and agreeable to homosexuality and everything else that goes with it, cause he has pity lips. If his own son would have to die in it, it wouldn't bother him any you just lay him in a cemetery and collect the insurance. That's right, he's not hurt at all. That's what the word unmerciful means pitiless. Verse 32. Who these men knowing their judgment, the righteous sentence of God, that they which commit who practice such things are worthy of death. Not only do the same, but have pleasure or consent. Damn, that dude. These people not only do the same, but they got pleasure in those who do they try to recruit, to get their gang in large of unbelievers. This is a great first chapter of the book around that, first of all, that a man of God is one who has to be so loud to the words he has to tell it like it is. He has to lay it on the line. Because any man of God will separate from himself. Others who do not want to believe that word and I don't care how good a personality you've got. Some people say to me, I've got a good personality it's sometimes they liked me for the teacher the word they don't like to to bread with God, Lord, you could have your personality in me it wouldn't help anything. Personality is not what wants to get people are against God, and the person just becomes the scapegoat. All Angel Les Paul, the mighty man of God with the greatest revelation, and before he died, oh Angel minor had separated out from him. You only had a little handful? Was it Paul's personality? Or was it the Gulf? You'd say it was his personality. That's what the home was. And the rest of the unbelievers would say it was his personality was this person. They didn't want God in the way which God must be understood and received according to the revelation is a spirit of holiness. We have great apostolic grace, all of these things, the righteousness of God The peace.

53:34

And over on the other side, when people forget that grace, that greatness of that they start moving against the true God. And when they move against the true God, they end up in exactly what the latter part of the first chapter indicates. That's how these two are set. The opening chapter of the greatest declaration of freedom that man has ever had, on this foundational principle, in the book of Romans, the whole book, now unfold. And in the light of this, the whole church of the body to which you and I belong. Really. Those who led by the first part of this chapter will accept the grace of God, the righteousness of God and being justified they will believe to walk this way, right. The rest are just flipped the other way.
