Thank you take your Bibles tonight and turn to the Gospel of Matthew. Thank you, Dorothy, and thank you wrote a turn to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter one. In this wonderful gospel of Matthew, you have in the opening verses of this particular first chapter, the genealogy of one pre one side of the background of the Lord Jesus Christ. The other genealogy is given in the Gospel of Luke. If you want the accuracy of those two genealogies, you will have to get a copy. If you've not already received yours, they're here in the auditorium, I'm sure that they'd be glad to give you a copy you visitors who are in here tonight for the first time. If you'd like to have a copy, this has in it, the genealogy of Jesus Christ handling the word accurately from the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke. Therefore, I do not want to deal with the genealogy as it's given in the December issue of the way magazine. But I want to begin with the birth of Jesus Christ, in verse at the Gospel of Matthew chapter one, verse 18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise, when, as his mother, Mary was a spouse to Joseph. And we had a discussion just this week about the weirdest spouse, the more you begin to work this word, the more you realize that it has not the connotation that we frequently think of in the terms of engagement, that the the spouse or was really a married, and his mother Mary, the reason you know this, we'll see it. Later on. In the Gospel of Luke, it says specifically, that Mary, who was a spouse was the wife of Joseph, the white, therefore, in the espousal, in this word, a spouse, you have the married, when, as his mother, Mary was the spouse to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of Holy Spirit, no article in the text, but in the original critical Greek texts, but from practice, it would have to be there, because she was found with child of by the Holy Spirit. And in the Bible, the Holy Spirit is always gone, the giver, God created, follow like that which makes for soul like God created in Mary, could God create this? In any one? Any woman? Definitely. Then why did he only created in one, because God had said he would have only one begotten Son. God made this statement, so he limited himself to his word. So many people have so much trouble with understanding the virgin birth they talked about, there is no trouble understanding it. If you understand the word created, biblically speaking, to create means to bring into existence dot which has not been there before. God, to this day, 1966 still has every woman made the same way that Mary was made. And to this de 1966 no woman ever contributes any soul light in the blood, the life of that flesh is in the blood, the varicose 1711 No woman ever under a normal pregnancy contributes any blood, the Soul Life in that blood to her offspring. The Soul Life always comes from the male side.

04:41

God, the Holy Spirit, God created within Mary, Soul Life. So like, and then Mary nurtured that little embryo and fetus in her womb, and she brought forth the baby Now Jesus Christ, the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise this is the way his mother was the spouse to Joseph, she was the wife of Joseph. But before they came together, before they had any relationship, as husband and wife. That's what it means before they came together. Before they had any relationship. It does not mean before they lived in the same house, or before they slept in the same bedroom. It means before they had any human relationships, like a husband and wife. Before they came together, she was found with child by one, the Holy Ghost by God, and God did one thing create, he can still create if he wanted to. But the reason he doesn't want to is because his word is his will. And he says he would not because he'd have only one begotten son. Got it? That's what that tremendous verse says. She was found with child. Then Joseph, her, her what? Her husband, that tremendous. Then Joseph, her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. Tripoli has secretly been while he thought on these things. Behold, the angel of the Lord who is Gabriel appeared on to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, down son of David, fear not, fear not to take under the Mary's I want white, fear not to take on to the married die wife. means in the language that people understand. Do not fear to be joined with her like a husband and wife should live. The angel told him this. bird that which is conceived in her is by the Holy Ghost, by God, by God. If you take a look at Matthew chapter three in verse 11, talking about this child that was born, he said, I indeed this is John the Baptist. I indeed baptize you with what? Water under repentance, but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes are not worthy to bear, He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Now there you have the same words, right. But in in, in Matthew chapter three, verse 11, there is no article D, the Holy Ghost, there is no article thing. This is simply a statement. As I teach you in the foundation of classes, that the confusion between the giver who is the Holy Spirit, who is God, for God is holy, and God is what spirit says. So, in the word plain as day, God is holy and God is Spirit, He is the giver. And he gave his gift on the day of Pentecost, and after added his, his gift, which is also called holy, and spirit, that confusion between the giver and his gift has caused an insurmountable amount of difficulties, biblically and theologically speaking among the body of Christians. Here in Matthew chapter one, it is the giver. It is the giver that is spoken up. For that which is conceived in her is by are of the word of is the Greek word by the Holy Spirit. Verse 21, and she shall bring forth a one. It was all subtle. You didn't have to buy any girl clothes. You didn't have to buy those little things in preparation for this baby that you would might have to have if you had a daughter born. She knew ahead of time that this child to be born would be a son. This is what the angel Gabriel had not only told to marry but was now telling Joseph And thou shalt call his name blood. And the child was named on the eighth day. The child is always technically an officially named at the time of circumcision. We'll read this a little later on, I believe in the gospel of Luke. But he was given a name before he was born. Why? For He shall save His people from their wood. He shall save His people, His people, I want Israel. Jesus Christ came on to Israel, to bring God's word to Israel, to claim out of Israel, a church set apart for Him. Therefore, the ministry of the word since the day of Pentecost, is entirely different than this one. For the ministry of the word today is to Jew and Gentile, and God calling out from both Jew and Gentile, a new people, called the Church of God, wherein there is neither male nor female, Jew or Gentile bond are free, for this is a new creation, in every Jew, and in every Gentile the Spirit of Christ, Christ in them, the Messianic anointing of God in them a tremendous difference, all of that you have to pattern in the greatness of this revelation of the birth of Jesus Christ. Now this was done, verse 22, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with a child, and shall bring forth the Son, and they shall call his name, Emmanuel. Well, the letters E L, those two letters, at the end of the word, mean God, E, L, are the letters for the word God, man your means with us, which being interpreted is God with us. Now God is spirit, right? God can only be with people when it comes into concretion. And Jesus Christ was born. Therefore, God was with people, because God was in Christ. And Jesus Christ always did the will of the Father.

12:36

This is how he was with his people. Then Joseph, being raised from the sun sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had watt, didn't him, and took unto him, his wife, took unto him his wife means that he had the relationship with her that he was permitted to have because they were husband and wife. That's what it says. That's what it means. But verse 25, knew her not, but knew her not until or till she had brought forth her firstborn son, means that she did not conceive. She did not have a baby, by Joseph, as the Liberals teach. Because before they came together, she was already can see. Got it. Every time the Bible says, from Genesis to Revelation, that so and so new, so and so it always means a pregnancy. When it says that Abraham knew Sarah, then it says Isaac was born. Certainly he had the relationship of husband and wife were there long before. This is like what the story of Adam and Eve, it says, an Adam knew Eve, his wife, and she brought forth Cain. Then it says, Adam knew his wife and she brought forth Abel then it says that Adam knew his wife again and she brought forth Seth. This is the meaning of the words to know K and O W k and E W in the other tents, my what a tremendous truth in these wonderful scriptures. And nobody ever works about everybody just Yaks about are we are we afraid to face the reality of life? You live this way? Husband and wife have relationships. Well, why couldn't God's word stated? Would you rather read it from Playboy? I'll take your time. The accuracy of God's word, and it sets and effects like a diamond. People. It's a tremendous thing what that angel told him. Because Joseph being a just man, and marry, being with child, which was not his, legally, legally, he had a right to put her away, according to the law, but God came by of this revelation in a dream. And he said, Joseph don't do it. Because that which is conceived in her is by my power, I did it by the power of God, by the Holy Spirit. And she's going to have this son do so and so. And you take on to her, you, you take her for what it said in verse 24. And he took unto him his wife, but he took her onto him, he lived with her like a husband and wife, but he did not know her, she did not concede by him. Until after she had brought forth her firstborn son, then after that, she had at least four sons, and at least three doctors, by Joseph, Matthew 1355 cents. So if you want to make a note, in your Bible, next to this record, maybe we ought to read it. Just again here tonight. This is common knowledge. For the people who have worked the word in the foundational classes, many times at least. Verse 55, of Matthew 13, Is not this the carpenter son is not his mother called Mary and his brethren, your their name, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and what? Judas and his sisters, the reason I know there were at least three is because when you and I use the English word sisters in the plural, if you had a half a dozen sisters, that's the only word you could use in the English sisters. But this is not true in the Greek. In the Greek, if there are just two, there is one word used. When there are three or more, it's another word. If you have one sister, then there are two sisters in the family right in English, then one word is used in the Greek. But when there are three or lower sisters, there's another word and that word is three or more. In this, verse 55, therefore from the accuracy of the word, putting this together with Matthew, verse 25, but verse 25, the word and is the word but but knew her not, but knew her not means he did want, knew her. He did have other children by her, after she had brought for her firstborn son. Now, if you have only one son, you will never speak of that son as being the firstborn, you will have to why would you only had one? Right? You only had one, you'd never have to speak of him as being your firstborn, you'd say He is my only child. But that's exactly what the Word says. God said that Jesus Christ would be his only begotten son. It was God's one and only, but it was Mary's but firstborn. That's that if Mary's firstborn, and he called his name, Jason. Now, when did he call his name Jesus, in Luke, the second chapter Luke, the second chapter, in verse 21. And when eight days were accomplished, for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb, that wonderful. So on the day of the circumcision, the eighth day, it was at that time that the child was named. Wasn't Zachariah and Elizabeth like this? In the first chapter of Luke. John was named at the time of the circumcision. The circumcision always took place in the home where it was done in the home They didn't go to the temple or synagogue didn't home.

20:04

And at that time, when they would circumcise the child, then they would name the child. And the father would name it. The father would say, this child's name is, John, this child's name is Paul, or this child's name is Jesus, that father was responsible for the naming of the time. Now, to see the story, the greatness of this, we go to chapter two, verse one, it came to pass in those days, we're talking now about the birth of Christ, how he was born. We were just told that Jesus was born, and the cloud is named Jesus. Now putting together with this, the second chapter of Luke, you'll get the whole picture. And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world, the Empire, the word world, should be taxed. And this tax thing was first made, when syringes was governor of Syria. You see, verse two is a parentheses, the figure of speech by way of explanation has a parentheses around it. You can read on from the last words of burst one directly to verse three, without losing any thought content, that all the world should be taxed, and all went to be taxed everyone unto his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called what? Bethlehem, then another parentheses, telling you, by way of explanation why he went that direction, because he was up the house and the lineage are one date, because of his family connection, the family had to be taxed in the area where the families belong. And therefore, Joseph had to go from Nazareth, all the way down to Bethlehem in Judea. Why does it matter mention this, the city of Nazareth into Judea under the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because there's another Bethlehem there is another Bethlehem. And if you check your maps in your Bible sometime, and especially your maps that deal with the Division of the land of Canaan, you will see that this Bethlehem up north, this Bethlehem up north, is located very near to Nazareth, Nazareth of Galilee, and Cana of Galilee. This is why a year and a half or so after Jesus Christ was born, when the wise men from the East came, they found Jesus in a house in Nazareth of Galilee, the Bible says. And then it was after that, that Herod had all the children slain two years, and under, because he had consulted diligently with the wise men, as to where Jesus was to be born, and so on. And it says that he had them slain two years and under, in all the coasts of Bethlehem, if I remember, it's in here someplace in the Gospels. You see, Bethlehem of Judea is not in any coastal area, but Bethlehem up around Nazareth is in the coastal area. This is why it's said in Ramah, There shall be weeping and so forth. It's in the gospels, either Matthew or Luke, it's Matthew. And because we have not recognized that third to Bethlehem, we've had all the confusion. Just look it up on your own map. It's all in there. Don't do a dial for that you'll lose me or I'll lose you and what I want to teach but I wanted to say you see, it says, Bethlehem of Judea city of Nazareth, into Judea, what's very seal under the city of David which is called Bethlehem. This is the Bethlehem in Judea. And it tells you why, in the parentheses because he was at the house and the lineage of David and David's lineage came from Bethlehem in Judea, not from Bethlehem in the northern area. Versailles came there to be taxed with Mary is a spouse, right?

25:08

Being great with child. You say well, why did Mary go along? Well, reason she went along because I believe God told them a lot of things. The word that already said that this Jesus would be born were in Bethlehem of Judea, God sent Gabriel down to talk to Mary, San Gabriel down to talk to Joseph did other things for them. So they were all prepared. When they came down. They came down, because somebody had said, a taxation. But that fella said that taxation right at the right time. So they could make the trip and get two things accomplished at the same time, the registration and the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. And I tell you, when serinus was governor and set this taxation, he just didn't know what a favor he was doing for all of us. But he did. And so it was verse six, that while they were there, In Bethlehem of Judea, the days were complex that she shouldn't be what, and she bought her wad the same truth we just read in Matthew, he was her firstborn. And She wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a knee because there was no room for them in the water trim industry. When Jesus Christ was born, in Bethlehem, because he was God's anointed, he was the king. He was, God sent, and he's the king, a king had to have a certain type of treatment that you would not give to another son. When a king was born, the first thing after his birth, when they cleaned him up from the birth, they would clean him up with some salt, in water, a little bit of salt, just a pinch of salt had to be dropped in the water with which they would clean him. Wash him up. Why? Because a king had to be salted the Bible thing. The words the meaning of salt is that his words would be salted, when he got to be the ruler, what he said he meant and what he meant. He said, A King's words had to be true. That's why every child who was a king or a Raja was always salted. Always salt, that's the first thing that happened. So Jesus Christ, when they cleaned him up, was salted. This record is in the Old Testament to know how they they work to be solved. And if you're really one to read the greatness of this, you will have to read our friend Bishop Casey polis little booklet, on the Orientalism of salted, what it means to be salted all of this which I have said in much more his in his wonderful book, which is back there at the book table. But this is what happened in this verse. Why does it not say this? That he was salted? Doesn't have to say it? You know why? Because it does say that she wrapped him in swaddling clothes. They never would wrap it in swaddling clothes until they first cleaned him up and cleaned him up. They had to have a little salt in the water because he was a king he had to be salted. And the second thing a king had to be a swaddled. Now most people are a lot of people think that Joseph and Mary were so poor, so poverty stricken that they had no clothes for him except little tattered pieces of shreds of clothes to wrap him in. Well how stoop agenda again? Well, it's remarkable. But this isn't the case. They came prepared. And these swaddling clothes were pieces or strips of linen, the best linen money could buy. And they were two and a half to three inches wide.

29:43

And they were long. And when this child was born, after they had cleaned him up, the first thing they do before they would dress him would be the swaddle. to swaddle means to circle him. They started at the top of his head and put these pieces all the way around. Leaving his little eyes and nose opening mouth, of course, swaddling all the way around to the soles of his feet. Why? Because a king had to be upright and straight. That's the symbolism of it. They swaddled him so that he would be kept in. Not only was a king's mouth to say what he meant, not only are his words to be salted, but his walk before his people is to be upright and straight. Therefore, every king that was born, was salted and swallowed. By how long did they leave the swaddling clothes on? No need to leave it on any length of time because the moment he has slowed, you have already carried out the left and Christ full pale thought. That's why it had to be solved with any had to be swaddled. In besides what I've already told you, he kept the completeness of the law. They would leave it on just long enough to get on. Because once they had it on, a minute later, they can take it off, then put on his baby clothes, beating tuck him into bed. I want you to remember this because there's an interesting synchronization of watches in the second chapter. Somebody's got their bank verses really set on time for long jeans or whatever you're wearing. Well, bless your heart back to verse seven. She brought forth her firstborn son wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them. In the end, there were in the same country. The word country is the word province. shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. This is a tremendous tree. First of all, I want to tell you that the stone was not visible. The night Jesus Christ was born, and that the wise men did not come to Bethlehem in Judea. But the Weizmann came to Nazareth in Galilee, a year and a half after the birth of Jesus Christ, but the star they saw was visible in the East country, as it says, in the Word of God. This night, when Jesus Christ was born, there were only a handful of people who do about it. There was nothing cataclysmic in the heavens. that shook the whole community. There were no ringing of church bell. No loud, hallelujah shout from the house tops, the King is born. But a group of shepherds were out in the field. It says, shepherds abiding in the field, keeping lots over their flock by night. They were not in the field to hurt sheep. The sheep were herded during the day, in the daylight hours. They were in the field at this hour, so that the sheep would Minoa the field. They contracted with the farmers in the area, if they had their sheep in the, in the sheep over here, they would contract with the local farmer that after an hour, an hour and a half after the sheep had retired. And I don't know too much about teeth, but you farmers figure it out. I know the accuracy of the word. an hour, an hour and a half after sheep had been fed and bedded down, then you take them out, when you get them up and move them out. They'll want to maneuver the field. That's exactly what the Word says. The shepherds were abiding in the field with their sheep watching over them at night, they were maneuvering the field. And at that time, right at that time, the angel of the Lord came upon them, verse nine, and the glory of the Lord showed round about them, and they were real shook. They were afraid. And the angel again, Gabriel said unto them, Fear not. Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of a little bit of joy, no good tidings of great joy, which are the two all without any distinction, people when they believe shall be to our people around to you. And to you, you are shepherds. And on that wonderful day, when Jesus Christ was born, there was only a little handful of people who believe and that little handful of people were all shepherds.

34:42

You would have thought that the heads of the synagogue of the temple, the rulers that were in charge of the religion of Judaism, would have been the first to hear that old Herod had a big old party. God had talked to him first. After all, he was top brass Maybe he wants top brass as far as men was were concerned. But he was pretty low brass as far as God was concerned, because he did not believe. And on the day Jesus Christ was born, those who believe are the shepherd, and to the believers he is born. He's not born to the unbelief, born only to the believers just tonight. today are those of us who want to believe we haven't savior. Those who don't want to believe can just go straight to hell, or unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is what makes the Lord and verse 12 Here er, this shall be the sign on. no guesswork, you've got to sign this shall be the sign on to you. You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying where that's what it says that's what it means. When does it shepherds get there? They got there when he was still up. I try. And immediately after they've cleaned up Jesus, they swaddled him, they certainly wouldn't have left it on longer in five minutes, or 10. At the moment. How wonderful this word is. When it tells you that the shepherd got there when he was still swaddled, this was the sign to them. So the Lord must have told them a little bit beforehand, the Jesus book, maybe a half hour, had to give them enough time to get out from where the sheep were in the field. Back to Bethlehem and find this place where this child was, and still find him wrapped up in swaddling clothes. You talk about synchronization of time, yeah. Now wonderful. baby wrapped in swaddling clothes. And suddenly, there was with the angel of magnitude of heavenly, a multitude of heavenly host praising God and singing. Angels never sing in the Bible. They only sing in the hymn. They never sing in the Bible. Never want. If an angel would sing in the Bible, nobody could fit the word. The saints do the singing. The angels always speak but you know, we got song got poetry, the angel saying Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace. On Earth Peace. Nah, nah, not the kind of peace they talk about between viet-nam United States and peace on earth, but upon Earth, that peace. Who that said, Jesus Christ is the peace calling. You don't see any between neighbors half the time, any other way. Jesus Christ is the peace. He is the peace. Why? Because he's just been burned. Jesus Christ is the peace. And it is He that is the goodwill toward man. He cares for us. I understand. He loved us. He died for us heroes. He ascended into heaven, nice to Goodwill. That's the piece. Verse 50. And it came to pass as the angels were gone away from them up into heaven. The shepherd said one to another. Well, let's think about it for an hour or two. Was the Word of God, the will of God to those shepherds, even if they got it by an angel named Gabriel and or by a host of others around? The Word of God was the will of God. They didn't say, one to another. Let us now go to New York. The shepherd had been told that he was born were in Bethlehem. And they didn't sit and argue and say what are that's the word of God. But I don't think it could be right we better go to Jerusalem, but certainly not in Bethlehem. We ought to be born in the capital city.

39:03

had they gone there? They missed the blessing, but never had it to begin with because God never talked to him to start with. They said let us now go into Bethlehem and see this thing which is come to pass which the Lord had made known unto us and they came verse 16 With hesitancy with reluctance. They slow footed it. Nah, they came with what? hightailed it over there with haste. They put on their running shoes, their track shoes or something. Maybe got out their motorcycles, I don't know. But anyways, they came with haste. And when they got there they found one, Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in a manger. And verse 17. When they had seen it, they made known abroad. The saying, which was told them Concerning does John, verse 18. And are they that heard it wondered? You know what the word wandered me? They all said, look at those guys. They're off their rocker. What's the matter with your little nuts in the head? Sure. They all wondered. That's what the word wondered means. They scratch their head and said all those justice stupid shepherds. Listen to him yet. Oh, they wondered they wondered about them? Or what else could you expected and believe to begin with? And when you find when you find a group of believers, and the unbelievers look at that group of believers, they'll always wonder what's the matter with you? They wondered at those things which were told them by what. But Mary kept all these things and pottered them into the heart. Verse 20, and the shepherd's return, glorifying and praising the religious leaders, now praising God for all the things that they had heard. No, but that it could have been a powder pit. But being in the swaddling clothes, he was the King, the Messiah, the promised one. And they praise God for all that they had heard. Via the angel Gabriel. They In other words, they praise God for the Word of God. And for all that they had see. And as it was told unto them, was God wrong? Not at all right down the line. And when a day's were accomplished, or the circumcising the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the days of her purification, that's 40 days after the birth. On the 14th, day after a male child is born, the day of purification comes according to the law of Moses, were accomplished. They brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord. So when did they come to Jerusalem? On the 14th day, after he was born, they came from Bethlehem at the south, and went to Jerusalem to the temple. And there you will find the record as to what happened in the temple. It says in verse 25, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. And the same man was just about waiting for the consolation of Israel and the new monarchy oh no article D and new Maha Young was upon Him to give and it was revealed on to him by the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he Semyon came by the Spirit into the temple, he came by the Spirit, but told him by revelations time to go to the temple.

43:33
